I'm happy the characters are getting a new novel, however is anybody ever going to license the anime for dvd/bluray?

I was really excited when I heard about this the other day! Gosick stands as one of my favorite anime, and a continuation in any form is appreciated!

I hope at some point in the future, this is also adapted into an anime, the chances aren't high, but my fingers are certainly crossed!

Also, every few months, I check and see if Gosick was license rescued by anyone, and while there are rumors that Sentai has it, nothing has ever been confirmed one way or another. I would love to own this series, and was ecstatic when Bandai licensed it, only to be met by soul crushing despair a little while later... It might be in limbo though because of the way Bandai collapsed... I want to see it on these shores some day, hopefully soon.

I have the first light novel, it was simply amazing, it blew me away in fact. I thought from the title it was gothic-lolita posturing but it was a very well-made golden age detective novel.

I can't even put into words the joy I feel from reading this news. I absolutely loved GOSICK. And by how it ended, I did not expect it to get another novel series.

This is amazing. I can't wait.

Madman released two 12-episode parts in July and August 2012. The combination of these two volumes are what's being released in January - for the price of one of the 12-episode volumes.

Now if they'd just release it on Blu-Ray.

You mean that utterly gorgeous box with the wraparound art of Kazuya and Victorique?

Can't wait to see them older for the wear with a few more wrinkles.

You won't "see" them at all in this novel if you mean in illustrations. The illustrator Hinata Takeda hasn't done any work for a couple years now. The last four novels remain unillustrated, and this new one is no exception if the cover is any indication.

Besides, why would they have wrinkles at age 21/22?

I just hope they keep the continuity from the original series, and not try to rehash their relationship again. Or is that just an anime thing, and the novels went elsewhere?
