Aww, I would've loved a sequel.

The movie version of The Princess and the Pilot just came out this week from NIS America. It's a little pricy because it's one of their deluxe boxed sets, but I definitely recommend it. There's no place for a sequel, however, as the end of the movie's What Happens After notes definitively (if not necessarily satisfyingly) wrap things up.
The setting of the movie was interesting enough that I'll probably watch this. |

I'd love to review the movie if a review copy becomes available. Due to some other big expenses this month, buying a copy probably isn't in my budget at this time.

This looks interesting. I didn't know it was released here. So NIS is only releasing BDs, oh c'mon. I guess I'll have to eventually get a BD. The designs for the prequel looks interesting.

The world that film is set in definitely needs more exploring, as the film itself is extremely narrow and only focuses on the two leads for the majority of the running time. Again, I use the African Queen as a perfect comparison, except the stakes here might be a bit higher.

Well I hope ANN gets sent a copy for you (or another reviewer) to review. While it isn't the strongest film in the last few years I did find it to be enjoyable. The reviews I've seen already have not been so positive however. Many have said that the movie brought up a number of themes which were never properly explored/utilised, and I find it difficult to refute that criticism since I kind of think that way too. So I'm interested to see what you or another reviewer at ANN has to say about how well the movie was written. Hence my hope that ANN gets a review copy from NISA. |

Pretty sure the koiuta series is based after the events of the original.
I've read the book and the princess was already the queen. Although in the koiuta books they only appear at the very end and their characters not discussed in depth. |
