I liked it better when it was known as Gundam...

I didn't like Star Driver that much but it sounds like this will be different enough for me to enjoy.

The art in the post:
The mecha's face looks like Tauburn's, and the MC's flight suit looks like Loran's from Turn A Gundam a bit.

StarDriver was a hell of a lot of fun, so I'm definitely looking forward for this. And with that head really resembling Tauburn, maybe this is a sort of spiritual sequel to StarDriver. Can't wait.

Nice music and looks awesome. I also like the tone the music and the coloring of the animation was giving off in the trailer.
Also, looks epic in those space shots and the late shot of the robot in action.

Yeah, it was. I'm even more hyped since I prefer the more Gundam route + space/scifi rather than the school setting but I loved most of Star Driver, plus I can't wait to see this team animate mecha action again.
Just realized Star Driver's composer too, this should have a great soundtrack.

The mechs are already confirmed to be hand-drawn (Bones doesn't do CGI mech). So consider me hooked. It's just sad how many studios have turned to CGI (Sunrise, I'm looking at you).

Because Gundam is the only mecha anime out there.
Oh, and Earth Engine totally looks like a Gundam.

I wouldn't give up hope on shows by Sunrise that are not Gundam just yet.
Valvrave's mechs are full CG in battles, but 2D up close.
Buddy Complex's mechs are both CG and 2D in battles (and most likely 2D up close).
The mechs in Tomino's G-Reko are probably going to be full 2D.

It looks like it could be worth checking out.
Seems to be a lot of sky porn.

Hmmm strange lack of Fencedude crap in this thread and threadshitting in general so far, wonder why that might be.....
Anyway was really not a fan of Star Driver by the end, I felt it spent far to much time with pointless weird comedy crap, filler and a repetitive cycle of events and as a result had a rushed ineffective ending. The pacing for that show was just brutal so I really hope lessons were learned from that and they manage to really focus this time around. Also hoping for no weird timeline fuckery that just messes up the whole dynamic of the story every couple of episodes like Eureka Seven AO. Bones has a lot to prove when it comes to whether they can still satisfy me with their mecha anime (haven't really seen one I'd consider net good since Xam'd), but I'm of course open to the possibility.

What? I think Captain Earth looks fine. Certainly more than Buddy Complex.
Granted, I have a bad track record of actually finishing Bones robot shows, but at least its a goddamn super robot that goddamn punches things.
