Unicorn is probably my favourite Gundam, alongside 8th MS Team. It really sets an incredible standard, and it will be sad not to be able to look forward to the next installment anymore, but better it end now than drag the plot out too thinly.
Also, it's very unlikely, but I wonder if they'll bring Amuro back from the dead...

Gundam Build Fighters is amazing, it kicks the ass of most Gundam series made in the last 20 years.
Oh by decent you mean one where everybody suffers the kill 'em all tomino thing ? Where everyone suffers beyond human comprehension and has shitty characters ? That type of Gundam Series eh ? Carry on.
Gundam Unicorn is nice, and by next year I'll get the last and final volume. But man, the guys at Sunrise should let the UC timeline die already (it was milked well beyond its expiration date) and concentrate on bringing on more good Gundam shows.

They can let it die after Origin is animated.

Crossbone Ghost among several other UC-era spinoffs (Thunderbolt, the new 0083 manga, one of the Advance of Zeta manga, etc) are still going on, and I don't think the flagship timeline will go away anytime soon.
also if Sunrise doesn't have some form of animation for Crossbone or Hathaway's Flash before they "kill" the UC timeline, people are going to be severely unrested.

Forget about letting the UC timeline die (the UC timeline IS Gundam, everything else is just extras). They need to let the franchise itself rest, at least for a good five years.
I mean, look at what they're doing. Gundam Build Fighters is laughable.

Well for starters, it shouldn't be about toys

That's what I enjoy about Macross. Kawamori doesn't constantly feel the need to push out an entire new project every two to three years, he lets it breathe on one series for about a decade. It's been almost three years since the second Frontier film came out, four years since the first film, and five years since the series.
There's actually a few other series I'd like to see some revivals too, since there's only a small number of series from the 70s and 80s that managed to turn into more than the TV series and recap features. Gundam and Macross obviously, but VOTOMS for better or worse has been chugging away recently with a bunch of poor to kind of decent content. It'd be cool to see some new Dragonar, Layzner, or L-Gaim just come out of nowhere, they couldn't be any worse than Valvrave.
Build Fighters is enjoyable for the dumb and likely wrong reasons. It's undeniably even more of a cash-grab sell toys to kids shows than other Gundams ever were, at least those had the pretense of being some kind of war dramas with other aspects tossed in. The response I'm always given to that is "But Gundam's always been a commercial!" Sure, but it was never this transparent and blunt about it. This is just "buy the cards", but least they do right by having Ral and Rinko appear often enough, they saved the series from being entirely tossed aside. Otherwise, I kind of zone out when they're not on screen.

They can let UC die after I get my ~anything~ Post-Victory, Crossbone anime and Ecole du Ciel finishes.

Danball.
Angelic Layer.
Modern Mazinger.
Oh, we're talking about Gundam?
It's always been about toys. You just never realized it because of the false sense of drama and I'm saying this as a huge fan.
People, nowadays.
We like shows about toys of giant robots. It's not like the there are any wrong reasons for that. Who cares if it's blatant? Danball's as blatant as they come yet that's an enjoyable as all hell show. It goes from stopping assassinations to proxy wars.

Actually, it was.
0079 TV. G-Armor and the exact reason it didn't appear in the comp movies alongside the Gyan and there's Zeon's MS of the Week in 0079 TV too. Also; the fact that the RX-78 isn't all gray like Tomino wanted (That would later go to the G3, as it appeared in the novels.)

At least they managed to work the G-Fighter and G-Parts stuff into the plot a lot better than characters whose entire life revolves around playing a video game where somehow the strength of the MS in the game come from... how well built the gunpla plugged into them are built? There's a weird disconnect. Why do they need the gunpla to play the game? Why do they need the game to build the gunpla? How does damage incurred in the game translate to damage on the gunpla in real life?
It's just stupid. The G-Parts were just goofy additions designed for a goofy looking giant robot. Silly, but at least there was some kind of internal logic.

News flash News flash : Gundam has always been about toys. Some series had nice plots and interesting characters as an extra. But the raison d'être of Gundam is to sell toys. Wether in the UC timeline, or other alternate timelines.

Yeah, that's not true.
While Gundam has survived and spawned a massive franchise because it was easily merchandise-able , it wasn't created to sell toys. Tomino created the series for artistic purposes, he wanted to go against the Super Robot grain and do a realistic Mecha series. Sunrise wanted it to be marketable, so they made him change a few things.
Tomino (like most creators probably would) actually hates the rampant capitalisation of his work. I speculate that it's one of the reasons for his depression and violent Kill 'Em All streak. He stated that he killed characters off so there wouldn't be any sequels, a move that obviously worked out very well for him.
