I recently watched Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan, and I thought it was pretty darn funny. one thing that made the series so funny was the fact that they used actual blood-gushing violence for comedy: every time the main character does something to embarrass Dokuro (or sometimes he doesn't do anything at all), she whips out her giant spiked club, excaliborg, and beheads him, then says a magic spell to bring him back to life. does anyone know another anime that uses violence for comedy?

YES. I know that Excel Saga is an excellent example of using violence in anime, with most of it happening to Excel. Though that can be attributed to the fact that she gets on Ilpalazzo's nerves enough. Then on top of that Hyatt always seems to be gushing blood from her mouth.
Another anime would be Boboboobo Boobobo, I love how the dude that's the sun is always getting abused Laughing

Love Hina. no blood gushing violence, but it's ok. you can also check out Rizelmine, but as mentioned in the "overrated" thread, it's definitely not for everyone.

The title most similar to Dokuro-chan is Dai Mahou Touge. This little magical girl is an expert of joint locks of wrestling. Her moves break bones. Literally.

Not to mention spoiler[her mascot and her two younger sisters want to kill her whenever possible].
