Am I the only person who found that the Battles in Naruto are acted and coordinated in a similar way to how the battles in Pokemon are conducted?
It's like:
Intro > Battle > Commentary > Battle > Turning-Point > Conclusion
Don't get me wrong I love the show but seeing them brake to hear how <name>ke has some amazing secret power and elaborating on it for fifteen minutes definately reminds me of Ash and Co. discussing the pokemon.

Yep, it's pretty similar. However, comparing the original Japanese versions, I'd rather watch Pokemon than Naruto. No, seriously. Pokemon in Japanese is pretty good.

Hey Pokemon now then is childish but i really used to love that show while back when i was 14.
And yea naruto does construct to the same basis as pokemon but regardless of things get repeated, people more centralize on actions anime and that actually pinpoint the reason overall. Besides it isn't only naruto, dbz, bleach and many more i think go with the same aspect.

The Naruto Battle Structure is using 5 episodes for Sarutobi to die. I think it only took 2 chapters in the manga. Just one more reason to prefer the manga.

Isn't this true of any shounen anime? That's how I identify the genre.

I lay it out a little more as in-
Intro-->Battle-->Talk-->(Sometimes)Talk More....-->(Rarely) Talk Even More....-->gets beaten senseless-->Evil guy says something to anger Naruto (honestly why do they do that.... i'd just stick them and move on) or character has a flashback....--> character becomes incredibly strong--> completely takes down the guy-->Finish OR Guy becomes angry and gets incredibly strong-->Character gets knocked senseless again..-->something abnormal happens and character wins.
I think that's what I figure.... correct me if I'm wrong.

Except the inclusion of commentary is optional, and more often than not, is better omitted entirely.

The "commentary" is really dialogue and it explains why each side is fighting. Unlike American cartoons (ie. Batman), even the "bad guys" have a (moral) reason for fighting the "good guy". More often in anime than cartoons, there really is no "bad guy" when you hear the reasons of why they fight. But anime like Hellsing, where violence in battle is the selling point, omit the dialogue.

Yeah, me too. I love the genre, it's my second favorite... but I try not to think about it too hard As usual, it's much more enjoyable when you don't predict what's going to happen. Just never think about it, and it won't bother you, though that's easier said than done sometimes.

Bread-making tournament / competition announced.
Azuma goes into battle against formidable foe.
Azuma's friends / co-workers comment on what Azuma's doing, his baking techniques, his magic Solar Hands, etc.
Azuma seems doomed to lose, until some amazing secret baking lore is revealed that makes his bread mind-blowing.
The shopkeeper/sensei/judge/whoever tastes the two breads, with bizarre, outrageous reactions to both, with Azuma usually winning.
*has only seen first ~14 episodes or so*

Yeah, most shonen combat-oriented anime, if broken down to it's roots, is actually a "sport" anime, the "sport" being combat. And pretty much all sport anime, be it Hikaru no Go, Prince of Tennis, Initial D, DBZ, Jo Jo, Yugioh, Gash Bell, Shaman King, Hunter X Hunter, Yakitate, etc., involves two components: the "sport", and the drama on the side.
The "sport" component almost always falls into that pattern, in which the opponent displays a clear advantage of some sort, and then the hero pulls out a clever turn-around, which is usually explianed to the viewer in some way either by innner-monologue, by the opponent, or by a third party viewer.
There is also usually the sub pattern that follows the arc of the series, in which the hero is dominant, then quickly "loses" some of his talent (or reaches a vastly higher tier of competition), in either case forcing him to rise to the challenge and bring his A+ game, wash and repeat as necessary.
Either way, I enjoy the hell out of them.

you said it!
but i think the anime that does this type of battle the most abviosly and painfully (for the audience) is DBZ. they give you 3 minutes of the same style fighting (bluring punches/kicks and an energy blast) and then its off to 27 minutes of charging up to the next level or talking about charging up to the next level.
