I've checked the Encyclopedia and did see anything, sooo has anyone heard of the Tenjho Tenge OVA being released here in the U.S.?

I enjoyed the heck out of the anime and I've bought up to Vol. 8 of the manga so I can continue on where the anime stopped. But I would like to see the OVA.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have seen the two Oav's and I was a little disapointed. Past chapters and the Ultimate fight are just recaps no new material that I could see. I was hoping that the Ultimate fight would continue on where the last vol ended but it did not it ended in the exact same place as the Tv show did Crying or Very sad So best I can tell you is if you want to know what happens after you will need to read the Manga. I do not normally read manga but I am going to start just because of this show and its lack of a proper ending(left hanging). I am still trying to figure out what the point of having two Oav's that add nothing to the Tv show is. hope that helps you out Smile

The 2 OVAs are actually on vol. 8 of the DVD release. Geneon just labeled them as episodes 25 and 26 as opposed to separating them (this is basically what 25 and 26 are anyway).

Are you shure about that? That kinda sounds lame.

I think I read that the American manga release of Tenjho Tenge was butchered by CMX. Is this true? I was thinking of picking it up until I read that somewhere.

If it is true, is it one of those things that can only effect a hardcore Tenjho fan as opposed to someone who has not had any experience with the series?

Tricky. Very, very tricky. I just checked the Encyclopedia and it says the series is 24 episodes but like TranceLimit said, there are 26 episodes on the 8th DVD.

Okay, then I won't waste my time fretting about when they'll be released since Geneon already did it.

Thanks TranceLimit!

Everyone, Thanks for the info.

Well, I'm reading the manga now and there have been a couple of places that even I can tell that there have been..."add ons" shall we say. But since the "add ons" have been on the girls not the guys, I'm not going to get too worked up on it. Very Happy Wink

Entire Charcters have supposedly been cut, The story has also been changed, I dont want to turn this into another ten ten bashing fest. Yes it was "raped" in a sence.

DC F'd up.

I didn't know that, thanks. *Adds two more titles to his Seen All list* Confused

"26" episodes in 8 DVDs..... talk about milking a series. I guess it's no different than those 4 Disc, 13 Episode series.

Yes, but that's nothing new for Geneon formerly Pioneer, they've released a lot of series on 8 discs that would have fit on 6 easily, but then again they're also inconsistant and release a lot of good 12-13 episode series in nice 3 disc releases. I guess they just base it on what they think will sell. Confused

Or maybe it's just random considering Samurai Champloo is only 7 volumes.

I wonder how many more people have Samurai Champloo in their collection as opposed to Tenjho Tenge.....

Well I won't personally, unless it comes out in a cheap signature series set sometimes later on the box, like the initial boxes for Trigun and Hellsing is way to expensive. It's not really a priority series for me though, and Geneon will be getting enough of my money this year and next for Black Lagoon, Ergo Proxy, Fate/Stay Night, and Hellsing Ultimate

Actually joel I have both, as well as Ikki Tousen. I found Ikki Tousen and Tenjho Tenge to be very similar in how the story gets delivered, though I do think Tenjho Tenge's plot is a little better. I hope they at least finish off in the manga what happens after vol 8 of the show. Regardless of the insensitive raping they did I will read it through to the end. I just won't buy the stupid manga. I hate it when they butcher a series like this. Leave it alone and slap in it wrapping with 17+ stickers all over it like Battle Royale. Just don't bastardize it.
