I really like Aquarian Age-Sign for Evolution and was looking for some opinions on the film from everyone here before I go and buy it. I hear not a lot of the characters from the series reappear in it, and I'm guessing it has a different dub cast seeing as how it's not from ADV. Anyone else seen it and is it worth it?

I've seen it and own the movie (reason: makes pretty good AMV footage). Yes, there's a different English voice cast (though it did surprise me that the ADR director is no other than Michael Sinterniklaas from NYAV Post), and yes the movie is mearly part of the rather massive Aquarian Age universe, and it's not related to a certain extent the Aquarian Age TV series released by ADV. Heck, I believe this whole movie is one big trading card promotion of the next starter set. So basically this movie only has flashy action scenes (though they're quite good) and a VERY thin and linear plot.

Of course the big problem is that we don't even have the actual Aquarian Age TCG here in the States which makes the movie extremely dry. I consider it a shame since I saw the card promo in the extras with those real-life Japanese girls learning how to play, and it looked rather interesting and fun. Of course I found it extremely amusing that Dan Green a.k.a. Yugi Mutou was the voice-over who taught those girls how to play. Laughing

But in short....eh if you're bored and you like solid and flashy actions scenes, I would rent it first.

ANN posted a full review on it last summer. See the review here.

I read the review beforehand, but I wanted more than one opinion on the matter.
