Does anyone know why Encore WAM! started Samurai Deeper Kyo over after episode 15 the other night? I'm confused as to why they would only show the first 15 episodes out of a 26 episode series then suddenly start over by showing episode 1....

I always wondered why they do stuff like this. I assumed it was because the show's rating were low at first and then picked up so they start it over in an effort to draw a larger audience. That way people who just discovered the show can catch it from the beginning and keep watching instead of quitting because they don't know what is going on.
I don't actually know though, so don't take that as fact. I'm just assuming things.

I don't think the people who are doing Funi's shows on that Dish Network Channel are even organized enough to start over. They've shown the same episode of Kodocha at least three times in the past week. As for SDK, I've been watching it on WAM even though I have it on DVD, and I'm remembering why that was one of my less favorite dubs.

For people like me who missed the first episode. no, really I think its because they have a scheduel for every show and that spot cant be replaced until they are done showing it (unless it does horriblely) you know its like reserving a parking spot, they must plan on showing it for a certain amount of time (again inless it doesn't get good ratings and gets chancelled). Correct me if im wrong I dont really know to much about how they run t.v. channels.

Has anyone notice WAM always premieres the shows starting on the second episode? They did this with Gokusen and now with SDK. For Gokusen, they didn't give the first episode until after the last episode. Not sure, but I think they did the same with Mirage of Blaze.

WAM showed the first ep of SDK the first time, though it still puzzles me as to why they did what they did....am I going to have to dl the rest of SDK just to see how it ends?!(I had to do that with S-CRY-Ed)

They did it just for me. They didn't want me to miss any episodes so they started over.
Nah, I'm just kidding, but, ironically, I went on vacation soon after seeing episode 4, and as soon as I came back (yesterday), I was able to pick it up again from episode 5, right where I left off. No joke. Weird, isn't it? Unfortunately, they didn't do the same (line it up to fit my needs...LOL!) with The Gokusen, so I missed a chunk of episodes there, not to mention all the episodes I missed of it before I actually started watching the show (I think I caught on around episode 5, which is, ironically, the same episode I just mentioned about SDK...LOL!)

Actually, I figured out what WAM! does here. They start airing shows on a certain day - either the first day of the month or Mondays, though they can surprise viewers and pick other day/dates. Encore WAM! uses a schedule that starts airing new episodes at 4 PM ET each day, with replays at 1 AM and 6AM ET (this is when the entire block of anime usually starts, so with SDK it actually airs at the :30 on the hour at the moment). So what happens when they start a new series is they air the first episode for whatever is going to start new at 1AM & 6AM of the first air day and then do Ep 2 at 4PM the same day .
Which is confusing IMNSHO and tends to lead to people missing the first episode of most series because they may watch or tape the shows at the 4 PM slot because that's usually when new episodes start (I know I tape at that time and it took me up until SDK to catch on to this ) .
Now what I want is to know why we stopped airing SDK at Ep 15 (which I missed taping first cycle but discovered when checking the tape it jumped from 14 to 1 between the day I missed getting the VCR set up for). I hadn't run into WAM! doing that with a show before (that is stopping in the middle of a show and starting over) so I'm not sure if they'll be airing just 15 episodes for now or if they'll continue on in run 2 or if I'll have to tape next months cycle after it moves to the top of the hour (SDK is being switched out (or up a half hour) for Street Fighter II after Sept 1). Then again maybe they will never air more than 15 episodes - I just haven't a clue what is going on and I'm a bit baffled about what is going on .
