Afaik, Brains Base probably left the Celty's head story to continue it should they pick the next couple of novels up for adaptation...which I hope they do. The story really, reeeeaaally picked up compared to the first three novels/anime story.

I dunno. I'd rather have them switch back and forth every now and then between this and Baccano. By all accounts, it's Baccano's turn for a new season - Alice In Jails is dying to get properly animated.

I've read fan translations of the later novels and, from what I remember, the hunt for Celty's head never really picks up again. And at the end of the first half of the series she does come to the conclusion that, while her head is still incredibly important to her, she can live a happy life without it now which is a conclusion of sorts.

That would be nice but I don't think Baccano did that well in Japan. On another forum that I can't name here, someone posted a bunch of DVD sale numbers which said that Baccano only sold around 3300 DVDs per volume and DRRR! I'm almost positive is Brain Bases's biggest hit ever. Still, one can hope?

I, for one, disliked the gang war arc for the fact that it relies on the three main characters hiding secrets from each other, even after they've learned about the others' secrets and should realize that they could go: "Hey, this is all just a big misunderstanding, everybody chill." So much pointless angst. Also hate that spoiler[Celty not only forgives Shinra for his roll in the loss of her head, but falls in love with him despite it. ARRRRRGH!]

Well, they are making a 3rd season of Natsume Yuujinchou this summer, so maybe in a few years Durarara might get the same treatment since they're both really popular.

I really wish they'd make more, I really enjoyed this series. I hope the run on Adult Swim will help people go out and support this with their wallet, so they will make more so we can see what happens next.
