O.k I believe I have it this time, you should be able to view my list and see my ratings. Can anyone refer an excellent anime to me, my tasts tend to lend towards show such as Naruto, fate stay night, and scrapped princess, which I just finished watching. Im also currently watching higurashi no naku nori ni, which I love, please help me find another excellent anime, thanks!

You might want to go check out Full Metal Alchemist, as the animation schemes are kind of similar, plus it is the type of thing like Naruto+Bleach. Action, some comedy thrown in, along with a main character that is differentiated from every1else.
Ghost in the Shell is also something you might want to take a look at. Although the story doesn't exactly adhere to a plot too well, the animation and action scenes are still great. Plus the non-dub, Tachikomas sound great 
Also Ruroni Kenshin is pretty good. The dub isn't half bad either. That's what I can think of, maybe someone who's been watching for a longer time might be able to give you a few more |

You might try GetBackers. IMO, it pretty well meets the requirements of pure "shounen." ANN and Wikipedia both have a synopsis of the story.
It got annoying to me after about 10 episodes, but I'll probably try it again later--I don't give up on an anime unless it is too "kiddified" for me (ie: Naruto-UGH!). |

Eyeshield 21: if you are open minded about watching a sports anime (it's about football, but don't let that deter you!) It's one of the most hilarious shows I've ever seen.
One Piece: highly recommended but NOT the version on TV, gotta either read the manga or resort to fansubs to get the real experience on this one. |

Ok, since I gave you a hard time before, I'll try to help.
First of all I second Rurouni Kenshin. This is one of my most favorite series. If you like some impressive storytelling and comedy along with your action, which if you liked Scrapped Princess I think is a yes, then you should check this out. It's a long series to get started on but I'm sure once you watch a few episodes you'll be hooked. The show has well developed plots, likable characters, good comedy, and awesome fighting sequences, especially if you like katana and samurai. Next something a bit different; Trigun. This one has a little more comedy and it's a little more slapstick, but if you like this sort of comedy or can overlook it you'll like this series a lot. It's mostly gunfights but some of them are just too cool. Also once you get past a few episodes you'll notice that the comedy begins to tone down a bit, never dies out, but it tones down as the Vash's (main character's) past begins to be revealed. And lastly, here's a wild card since I think everyone should try something different; Full Metal Panic. Before I watched this series I never believed I would be recommending a mecha show to anyone. But that's how unique this series is. It is completley character driven but also incredibly versatile; the stories are well written, and can turn from comedic to dramatic before you even realize it, and they often carry a dash of romance to keep everything balanced out. Also as much as I complain about mech anime, I have to admit that the action sequences are great. Also depending on how much you like just straight out fighting and adventure you might want to try a classic. Dragon Ball or at least Dragon Ball Z is something any fighting shounen fan should watch at least a few episodes of. Especially if you like Naruto and Bleach. |

I will third Rurouni Kenshin, my favorite shounen franchise of all-time.
I'm surprised you gave Peace Maker Kurogane a Very Good. But if you liked that, then you'll love Kenshin. The basic moral of the series is to never give up on life, regardless of what bad things you've done in the past or how bleak your future might look. Cherish the life you have now and enjoy the presence of good friends and do what you can to protect it, should the instance occur. This is portrayed perfectly through the interaction of Kenshin and friends, and especially his battles. Before you check it out though, there are several things I need to point out. First, there are multiple titles that go in the following order: TV series (1-62) Movie (optional) Tsuioku-hen OAV ("Samurai X: Trust & Betrayal") Seisou-hen OAV ("Samurai X: Reflections") The TV series is actually 95 episodes, but ep. 63+ are all filler, meaning it has nothing to do with the original story. I would recommend you avoid this until you at least get the jist of the real story. In fact, you can ask anyone about the notorious Season 3, and most will say it just doesn't live up to the namesake. Actually, the series got cancelled because of such low ratings, so that should tell you something in itself already. Season 1 (1-28) contains some filler, but still does a decent job of portraying most of the original material. There's a fair share of action, comedy, and plot events to build up the characters. Moving into Season 2 (29-62, aka the Kyoto arc), you get a bit of a darker, more action/drama-oriented atmosphere. Every episode sticks to the manga almost panel for panel, and is the highlight of the series, in my opinion. The movie has nothing to do with the main story either, though it was okay if you liked the series. Some of the references point to the events of Kyoto, so if you watched it without any prior knowledge, it probably wouldn't be as enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend it if you're watching the anime for the first time through because the end of Kyoto actually ties into the first OAV. Tsuioku-hen is... pivotal. It's actually a prequel that tells the story of how Kenshin turned from the cold-blooded assassin he once was into the happy-pappy rurouni. I do not recommend you watch the OAV before the TV series. The problem with that is the transition. Namely, the TV series is a fairly light-hearted and fun viewing. You get some slapstick humor, laughing moments, and that sort of thing. The OAV is the polar opposite; very dark, violent, and almost depressing. If you watch to the end of Kyoto, Tsuioku-hen will tie into a certain lingering plotline. And that transition from a lighter to a darker atmoshpere, is what will make it so much more enjoyable. A lot of people that saw Tsuioku-hen first, ended up not liking the series because of the reverse transition (darker to lighter feel), and it's a real shame. TRUST ME, you will not be dissappointed if you follow the order I suggested. Seisou-hen, on the other hand, is not as good. For the longest time, I never made the effort to read much manga. But after hearing so many things about what actually happened after Kyoto, I had to find out. Needless to say, Seisou-hen is a very poor representation of it. In addition to being a prequel, Tsuioku-hen is actually a flashback that was to lead up to the final arc of the franchise, Jinchuu. Unfortunately, what was written and illustrated into about 10 volumes of greatness ended up being only 4 good OAV episodes (Tsuioku-hen) and 2 crammed episodes of butchered misrepresnation (Seisou-hen). While the production qualities are excellent, the story is just horribly spliced, putting 8 volumes of manga into an hour of crap that didn't even tell it correctly. Even the creator of the franchise disowned it. If at all possible, I highly recommend you check out the manga after the anime, at least for the full effect of the Jinchuu arc. But for now, I can say you'll like the anime if you follow my suggestions for viewing (TV series through ep. 62, then Tsuioku-hen). By the way, I really dislike the dub. Being my favorite anime, I feel it fails in capturing the essence of all the characters and expressing the subtlties that make the dialogue and interacton so enjoyable. I could argue the faults forever from voice inflection to pronunciations, but I've typed enough as it is. Judging by the fact that you've seen all of Hunter X Hunter and Fate/stay night, though, I can rest assured that you don't mind subtitles .
Oh, and if you liked HXH and Getbackers, you'll be happy to know that Kenshin is directed by the same guy, Furuhashi Kazuhiko, my favorite shounen director .

Well looks like I am going fifth Kenshin for a recommendation....I've got nothing to say about it that our Kenshin expert (Mr.K) didn't already mention. Well actually I know he dislike the Dub, I kinda like for the series, but Tony has a point the original Japanese is so strong and powerful the dub never had a chance against it.
As for me I am going to say try Witch Hunter Robin. Only problem is there was never a thin pack version of the series so you might have to shell out some dough to get it. However that said it's one of few anime that I need to revisit now that I have spent sometime with a lot of other anime, I think that I didn't get a great grasp on this show originally. And the more and more I think about it, it's a damn cool show that is dark by nature. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

Well.. I'm sure he appreciates the Kenshin recommendations... but c'mon guys, he's hardly seen them all.
Black Lagoon - Badass chicks with guns, mercenaries, south asia, all done very well (though you gotta wonder if revy is human after a while). Elfen Lied - No fights really, no swords, and extremely pointless guns, but tons and tons of graphic violence. Some claim it has a lot of fanservice too, but they're wrong, it's all intended to desensitize the viewer. Not your typical "shounen" and it's got a romance thing going on (kind of), not much else like it. Eureka 7 - I don't see any other mech titles up there on your list, but this is one of the better ones. In terms of pure action this has by far the best mech battles, period. Since you could stomach Shirou from F/SN, you can probably put up with Renton and still like this show a lot. Starts off slow though. Hikaru no Go - I'm not sure if you'll like this one, it's really hard to tell about this one sometimes. Either way, it's a fantastic shounen show without any of the forced gimmicks a lot of other shows rely on to create drama. If you watch enough of it to be able to rate it fairly, and especially if you take an interest in Go, you'll love this show to death like me. Oh, and I second the recommendation for Trigun and even Full Metal Panic to a slightly lesser extent. |

Hmm, you've seen more Shonen titles than I have, but I do have a good series that you might enjoy. It is known as MÄR. It's a relatively new series, finishing in 2005. It has pretty good music, and the character designs are ok. I think it feels a little like the Greed Island arc of Hunter X Hunter, because they use items that transform into bigger things (the Ärms). You can watch it on Toonami Jetstream.
I'm also going to go along with the recommendation for Rurouni Kenshin. I have just finished the Megumi arc in the anime, and I have to say, though it was handled differently from the manga, it was pretty well done. Also the dub isn't that bad, but it gets kinda' annoying when they keep on calling Kenshin "Battosai the Manslayer" (I'm read the manga so I'm used to Hitokiri Battosai). Other than that though, it's a very good series. I'm going to second selenta's recommendation for Hikaru no Go, too. I absolutely love that show. I can't get enough of it. You can also watch it on Toonami Jetstream. Sai's voice is a little annoying, but you get used to it eventually. Anyway, it's a very good anime, so you should definitely check it out! Hope I could have been some help!

Hm, under the assumption that you, yourself, dished out the money to buy each individual volume, I'm sorry to tell you (I know you are going to hate me for this...LOL!), but there is a Witch Hunter Robin thin pack. I was always curious about that show and I've been wanting to see it for quite some time now, but once I realized they we're making a thin pack box set of it, I decided I'd wait it out. It's coming out October 24, 2006 and it'll be about $40 (plus or minus $5) in most places. 
And BTW, if you like Shounen anime, maybe you should try S-Cry-Ed. I haven't seen too much of the show, myself, but I think I'll buy it soon because there's a thin pack coming out of that, too. As a matter of fact, it comes out the same day and is the same price as the WHR thin pack. |

Nah I don't hate you I really like my complete editon, beside I like all the extra that I got with my box, it's also looks great on my shelf. I bought several year ago, that was before most of these thin pack were even in the discussion, most people were happy if a boxset was available. Anywho even better news, that WHR thin-pack isn't even on the release page, but hell I double recommend WHR now that you can get it at a steal of a price. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

I'm going to go ahead and second all of these. Also, I will have to recommend if you like Kenshin that you watch the OAVs, which are more mature themed but definitely very good. Also, regarding Kenshin, you might just want to skip the "third season." This is purely a filler season and it sucks... big time. If you want to continue the story, pick up the third arc in the manga. It is way better. About FMP!: Definitely go for it. The first series is incredible, FUMOFFU? is hilarious, and The Second Raid, which will be released soon on DVD, is oh-my-god-give-me-more-of-this-immediately good. |
