According to this release the movie should come out tomorrow. And then available for purchase some time after that. But wait isn't it already tomorrow in Japan? So it's out now so to speak. I can't wait to see this movie, but then again I still need to finish that last volume for 2ng Gig.

I hope that the fansubber don't touch Solid State Society, and if they do I hope Bandai comes down on them with the hammer of god. |

It definitely will, count on it. As for the movie, I hope it turns out to be good. So far, the only GITS iteration I really liked (actually, loved) were the two TV series, which is why I think the episodic TV format suits this franchise best. Movies of this caliber usually tend to focus too much on flash and shine, and don't provide enough screentime for character interaction, which, to me, is crucial for this franchise. |

There will obviously be funsubbers of this movie. There are still many fansubbers who refuse to stop subbing a series after it has been licensed. *cough* Anime Junkies, KAA, DB *cough* I mean look at series such as Naruto, Bleach, and Eureka 7. They're licensed and airing (in the case of Bleach "about to air"), and groups are still going because they feel safe and secure that the companies won't go after them. It obviously shows how little respect they have for the companies, and they'll continue to fansub. But, if Bandai were to lay the smackdown on whoever fansubs the GitS movie........ then maybe these people can learn a little respect. |

When Advent Children came out, it was available on fansub within 24 hours. I'd say it'll pretty much be the same with SSS.

That is true, very true. I remember seeing all over the net that Final Fantasy: Advent Children was fansub. I wonder if even with Bandai (trying) to lay down the lawn will it slow down the fansubbers? No doubt that there will be someone who fansub the Movie, it will be interesting if we see Bandai presses legal action early on. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

My understanding is that this "movie" is a compliation of the episodes in the second season of GITS that were all part of the main ongoing plot. Is this what others understand? So that, essentially, they'll be releasing a slightly edited "movie version" of the good parts of the second season..... If that's the truth, then I don't think you'll needed to see the TV show to understand the movie, as the new movie should be it's own stand alone experience.... or atleast that's how it seemed to me.

Actually we are talking about a completely different movie.....there are compilation movies for both Laughing Man and also Individual Eleven. But this is the movie we are talking about, this is basically a sequel to the 2nd Gig. It takes place 2 years after the end of the 2nd gig. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

If I was Bandai, I would hold my bricks for the first motherfucker who ripps this. It will send a message to subbers without actually effecting them. (ie. we have teeth, pleese listen) And most among the fandom whom are respected would have zero problem with that. |

This'll be an interesting movie, bring back the infamous Puppet Master from the original movie. Also I wonder how it's going to be without the major. I haven't seen innocence yet but it's staring Batou. Will the major make a suprise appearance in this movie? [scratches head]. As for fansubbing, I dun think fansubbing will ever stop, it's like terrorism. Theres always gonna be someone out there plotting to bomb.. I mean fansub something. |

Bandai has already stated that they WILL take action against anyone who fansubs SSS. Personally, I see no need for anyone to fansub or fandub it, as GITS is already popular Stateside anyway.
