Well I got half way through Ichigo100% and was told how it was gonna end(half butted), and was kinda disapointed since I didn't think it would end that way for a short harem-typed anime. Anyhow has anyone seen or is watching Eureka 7? if so I have a few questions.
- I generally stay away from series with larger than 26-28eps per season, because of the high potential of fillers are there many fillers in this anime?
- On a scale of comedy and drama(each seperate) how would you rate it.
- IS the mech battle unique from run-of-the-mill Space gundam fights?
thnx

I can't really recall any fillers in Eureka Seven for except maybe one episode, but my memory is somewhat lacking at the moment.
Now for comedy and drama, on a scale of 10, as 10 being the highest. Comedy is maybe a 5 and drama would definitly be a 10.
I would say the battles are somewhat different than the typical mech anime. But I have only seen only a handful of mech animes.
Overall, Eureka Seven is must see in my opinion. You should definitly at least check it out. Or go as far as watching the first 15 episodes because that is when it really picks up. Hope you enjoy it.

The battles are absolutely hands down the best mech fights ever, period. They're fast, extremely fluid, high quality, really the only problem with the battles is the notorious pink explosions (wth is up with that anyway?).
Although I found the first half of the show to be quite boring, I don't really remember much filler, just Renton being an annoying ass. If you do watch it, watch it with this caviat: expect to absolutely despise the main character. Don't worry, there's a large cast of likable characters, but the two main characters are really quite annoying for the first half. Coming from someone who values likable characters as the number one most important thing, and is absolutely sick of the retarded indecisive shounen heros, the fact that I even finished this series says loads for everything else in it.

Hmmm, guess everyone has their own opinion but I actually thought Holland was much more annoying than Renton throughout the first half. Renton behaved like a believable naive 14 year old whereas Holland was just a prick.....of course now we know why he was a prick but that's a different matter.
To answer the OP, E7 is a great show. Combining great mech fights, characters, and story (which admittedly was a bit slow to get off the ground, but I never found myself bored).
I can remember really only 2 filler eps.
It's got a good combination of drama and comedy...and action of course...all well done in my opinion.
As Selenta says, the action is very fluid and well animated though the "surfing robots" takes getting used to. Also the Nirvash doesn't seem to use any guns, at least I can't remember it doing so.

All I can say is Eureka 7 FTW! >.< Superb animation, music (the soundtrack is easily one of my faves) and I find that I actually care about the main characters. I'm not a huge fan of mecha anime (especially mecha that can transform) but the great thing about Eureka 7 is that the show is much much more about the characters and not about ooo-shiny robots. The first 10 or so episodes are a tad bit slow, but it really goes ape-shit crazy later on, so don't be discouraged by the slow start.

Well the mech battles really looks good, and the beginning wasn't that slow, none of the main character seems that annoying, seems like a pretty basic anime style set up for their starting personalities. I thought when you guys said the main char or Rolland was annoying I had flashbacks of 12 Kingdoms main character.

Eureka 7 may have more than 26 eps a season (I don't know for sure), but there are only 50 eps total.

Filler isn't really an issue when a show is an original creation like E7. It may get a bit slow at times, but the characters are always a joy to watch. Its a BONES series for crying out loud, that alone equals makes it a must see.

You might be better off not finishing Ichigo 100%, as things just drag on and nothing gets decided or resolved, not even in the OVAs. There are a few funny parts, and a rather touching scene in episode 8, but you could probably find better uses for your time.

Sure, there was no resolution, and yeah, it was sort of a generic harem show, but it was pretty good. I liked it better than some of the more popular harem shows like Love Hina. Maybe I should watch it again to see what I liked so much about it...
Back to E7 - it's an above average show. Just like BONES' earlier masterpiece FMA, it takes some time to build up, but the 2nd half is a roller coaster ride. Also like FMA, there's not a lot of filler (except for that 30-minute FIFA commercial), but the show does fluxuate between seconds of instant-crazy out of nowhere, and slight lulls in the action. The animation is top notch, and the mech battles are cool, but once you get past the surfboard gimmik, it's nothing special. Like FMA, there's also a large cast of supporting characters, but they too only have 1 or 2 personality traits to distinguish them. The music is a strong point, save for the final OP. There's lots of cool electronic/upbeat tracks, mixed in with your standard orchetstrated tracks - although these start to sound a bit derrivative after a while.
Like I said, it's an above-average show. I prefer FMA (the only show I can think to compare this one to), but that's just me. I would probably give it a 7/10 overall.

His name is Holland (the leader of Gekkostate) and I did find annoying for while, mainly because he kept picking on Renton and literally beating him up, but we find out why later on. I found Renton to be one of the most likeable characters I've seen in anime. He's a little shy and he has his flaws, but he faces his fears and lives his dream! >.< And as I said in my previous post, I found myself really caring about Renton and Eureka, nothing made me happier than when he confessed his feelings for her at the end of the first season. The grand finale at the end of the 2nd season (ep50)... I would have been crying like a baby if my brother wasn't watching it with me T^T . I rarely find myself so attached to anime characters.

I think that those "filler" episodes at the beginning of Eureka 7 were mainly just to develop the characters. They really show you how much of a b!+ch Talho can be, and they show how cruel, yet funny, the whole crew of the Gekkostate can be.
As for me, everyone has already said the amazing aspects to it. Good mech fights (looking for more in the future, though... ), great story so far, loveable characters, and great pacing. There is alot to the story (or at least it seems that way), and the creators did a good job spreading out the story and pay close attention to adding details. I can't wait until tomorrow's episode. I can't watch it on the Fix right now because my speakers broke. I think it's good they pushed back the time to 1:00 a.m., too, because that gives me time to go see Snakes on a Plane tomorrow!
And as for Ichigo 100%, isn't that just about some kid going after a girl who he saw wearing strawberry panties fall out of the sky?

Regarding Ichigo 100%, yes, it ends in a way that leaves you confused, wondering if it's really how it ends (in which it's NOT). The story continues in the manga, which isn't released in NA yet.
Can't say anything about E7, since I haven't seen it yet.

I would read the Ichigo 100% manga and skip the anime (or in your case, skip the rest). While the manga certainly has many critics, the anime is pretty much an awful condensed version with bad casting and awkward pacing. The manga retains the same cliches and occasional cheesiness as the anime, but the comedic moments are done much better and the drama slightly more believable.
Overall, for both the manga and anime, the comedy is decent (although ridden with fanservice), but the drama is pretty much laughable.
