Yeah, now only if France could get more anime shown, or even sold in stores.

Yeah, the French mangas for several things - among them Sailor Moon and B'T X - came out before the English/USA translations and publications.
And for Goldorak and Albator, I'd spring for a satellite dish instead of cable.

What's also important here is the creation of Teletoon Retro, which according to the article will have an English version in spring 2007 (and may have those shows announced for the French channel in English as well). Unfoirtunately most of it will be old Jetsons and Flinstones cartoons, but we could also see some more anime work it's way in there.

I love the French market. And even though the USA have improved vastly as far as the mere number of titles is concerned, France is still superior, I think.
Not just a huge variety of titles, but also cheaper than inthe US, yet the manga have great printing quality and dust jackets. Awesome. |

Yeah, but were Harlock and Grendizer even dubbed into English? If so, it probably wouldn't even be worth tracking down the rights to those dubs since they weren't anywhere near as popular in the rest of Canada as they were in Quebec. And they were phenomenally popular in Quebec. The best we can hope for as far as anime goes is that the English version of the station might consider picking up Macross and Gatchaman from ADV. But remember that we ARE talking about Teletoon here... personally, I'm just hoping for Batman: TAS and He-Man to show up.

I have friends in France that tell me France gets almost nothing for manga in bookstores or manga periodicals, and he says anime DVDs are very hard to find in France for him. |

I think it will be on Teletoon Retro. Teletoon Retro is supposed to begin in 2007 in both English and French. The French TR will begin at Fall 2007 and both are classics it's making sence.

because in france , you just have to turn your head and you'll find a manga and anime store . even in the alps |
