Has anyone heard anything about Matt Greenfield making any more than the 3 appearances listed for 2011 @ animecons?

Buzz which forum members here might have gleaned even outstrips con websites' ability to update. For example, MatsuriCon's website does not--at the time of this post--list Stephanie Young & David Brehm as attending, yet their forum confirms that they will indeed be there. (As such, so shall I.) This info was originally obtained from an overlooked flier for the con, which was distributed at another con. This is the kind of "grapevine" intel that engenders great advance planning, the kind that I'm hoping ya'll have. Very Happy

Though no news on Greenfield. All the pages about him say the following:
Quote:
...and appears at an average of 20 anime and sci-fi conventions a year.
Yet animecons lists him as having only done 15 anime cons in the past 3 years! Either he's underperforming, or there are a beaucoup of scifi cons that I need to start attending (any info?).

2 of Greenfield's 3 cons slated for this year are not even in North America. The one that is, however, is over a thousand miles from me. Now, I could hedge and go to that con, but that is a very costly proposition. I'm going to cons that are close by to that one (Matsuricon is in the same state) but they haven't posted their guest list yet. Nor has Otakon, but then, Otakon is always painfully slow in posting its guest list. You have to prereg before you know who the guests will be; it's a conspiracy Wink Sad

Sometimes Matt Greenfield (and other industry representatives) will be at a convention, but not be promoted as a guest. For example, he has been at Anime Expo almost every year, but don't expect to see him on the guest list.

I'm not sure why you're so concerned over this. If he only went to 3 cons a year, what's the big deal?

I wouldn't say it's a big deal, because I'm concerned that Priceline® may own that phrase nowadays Very Happy

If Matt Greenfield were to go to only 3 cons per year, that would only be mildly frustrating. However, his bios consistently say that he goes to an average of 20 cons per year. According to AnimeCons' listing alone, that can't be true. so he must have gone to other cons that aren't listed there. (Unless the avg 20 cons claim is bogus)

If one of those cons was near me, and I missed it, that would be a big deal. That is my major concern.
