Found a second trailer for Tekkon Kinkreet, but it's a tiny quicktime one. If anyone can identify the music is in the background I'd be ever so happy!

This actually isn't a trailer for the brand new Tekkon Kinkreet animation coming out next year from Studio 4°C, although someone from that studio worked on this one, too. The trailer you linked to is from a 4-minute 3D animated short directed by Koji Morimoto some years ago. You can see the short film in its entirety over at Catsuka.com.
As for the music, it's bg music from the short film, composed specifically for Tekkon Kinkreet by none other than Yoko Kanno. Sadly, since this is such a tiny obscure film (not even in the ANN encyclopedia), the song has never been released on an OST (not that it stops me from having it stuck in my head 24/7). Perhaps Yoko Kanno will come out with a compilation someday with all the weird misc. music she's written for various Studio 4°C stuff. I'd sure like this and the Noiseman Sound Insect music on a CD, myself. |

Oops Thanks for pointing that out! Just downloaded the clip in it's entirity and I hope the film looks just as pretty. The crows, urbanscape and red octopus slide visuals are great. I wish it was subtitled though, i need to learn more Japanese/French.

The animation of the crow in the trailer for the new Tekkon movie (which can be viewed here) is mind-blowing. It's so refreshing to see stylistic animation that feels incredibly life-like because of its movement, not necessarily the detail of the drawings. I am greatly looking forward to this film--so much that I'm seriously thinking of planning a trip to Japan with some fellow Studio 4°C fans I'm friends with just to see the premier in 2007. And try and get jobs at that studio while we're there, of course (we're all animators).
