Would it be possibe to have an encyclopedia for songs featured in anime? It could include lyrics of the songs as well as other information. I do know that they already put music composers as well as the music artists who do opening and ending songs as part of the information for anime in the encyclopedia. I'm just suggesting that there could be a complete listing of all anime songs.

Re-producing lyrics verbatim is actually illegal (copyright infringement). Its debatable if there's any harm to such kind of activity*, but we prefer to leave it to smaller fan sites and mosre specialised sites like animelyrics.com *On one hand, it's not like the lyrics alone are any sort of competition to the song, being able to read the lyrics online won't stop people from buying the CD... On the other hand, including the lyrics on the printed Jacket covers is one of those extras that CD manufacturers can include in the CDs to compete with online piracy (look, our CD has more than the MP3). If the lyrics are available online, it can actually impede sales because the "extra" is no longer attractive. -t |
