I've been watching Zatchbell for quite some time now (Ecspecially in 2005). And I was wondering if there are any parts in Zatchbell that were edited. Can you tell me please?

That was completely incoherant.

But as to the first guys's questions, yeah, there are edits to Gash Bell on CN, although CN does not edit stuff themselves, they are showing an edited version of the show. For one thing, in many episodes there are people with guns. These guns are not meant to be radioactive glowing guns or anyhting stupid like that, they are just normal guns.

Also, early on there are scenes in which Zatch isn't wearing pants. The Japanese have no qualms about showing little kids (like around 5 years old) junk. They painted underwear on him, like in Dragon Ball.

Finally, the song that Fulgore sings when he first shows up, his popular single, is basically singing about breasts.

I don't know enough about the series to point out later edits, but they are in there.

No they don't. Get your mind out of 1997 and watch Naruto, because you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Watch Naruto and IGPX and you'll see all kinds of stuff Toonami's never allowed in the past (such as blood and mild language). Oh, and did you even bother to watch Princess Mononoke? Didn't think so.

Yeah, now what? Insert foot in mouth. Rolling Eyes

If I understand things correctly. Cartoon Network DOES NOT EDIT THE PROGRAMS! The editing is done by the owners/producers who SELL the program to Cartoon Network. The only thing Cartoon network does is occasionally add fart noises. Confused Cool

I know, it's a joke.

But, they do purchase from companies that do edit those animes. Does 4Kids ring a bell?

Seriously, some of you guys need to lighten up a bit?

Didn' t look like it. There was no sign of sarcasm at all in your post.

OH MY GOD. ONE company that butchers its anime. That's it. The other companies only erase nudity and redub or block out profanity, nothing else.

Uh, no.

I think you meant to say my name, not your own. Wink

Also, my post was not uncalled for. There's no way to tell the difference between a joke and a serious remark if there's no emoticons or any other comments. If you disagree, whatever, but you should take my advice and be more careful next time. Not all jokes are automatically recognizable as jokes.

No, I said my name because I'm new here to these forums.

As I said in what appears to be a deleted post. I'll be sure to do that.

What are you talking about? Naruto has plenty of edits, some minor, some fairly significant.

Edits are made for children who watch the series. I can guarantee many anime have been edited so children can get into the series and buy merchandise and what not without having moms and dads get angry at the channels showing them.

And yes, Naruto was edited too. Truthfully, I can understand the edits, but if the voices are terrible, I can tell you that I won't be watching it.

People, you misunderstand. I wasn't saying that Naruto wasn't edited, I'm saying that it was MINIMALLY edited. Look at the show. TV-PG V. We've got small amounts of blood, characters that talk about death and killing, and some heavy amounts of violence. Sure, they may have eliminated some sexual humor and profanity, but everything else was either left in or only slightly altered. And the dub is pretty good, too. Had this series come to Toonami a few years ago (or had 4Kids gotten it), it would've been torn to pieces. The ninjas would be throwing energy discs instead of kunais and shurikens and Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura would be called Nate, Sammy and Sarah or something. The show would be ripped apart.

But this thread is about Zatch Bell.

Yeah, actually it was a relief that Viz got ahold of it... anyway, back on topic.

... truthfully, I have never seen Gash Bell, is it any good?

Well, I watched the first 15 episodes of Zatch Bell and all I can say is you are not missing much.

I don't think its very good, but then again, I don't think Naruto is that good either.

But, I will refrain on judgment with these two animes because I have only watched the English dubbed versions of Zatch Bell and Naruto and we all should know that some anime series can be ruined by a bad English dub.

As far as Alex K.'s comment, editing is editing. It doesn't matter if they edit something half to death or changed one little thing, the fact of the matter is, they did edit it.

Now, I know this is going into ethics but, why edit anime? I mean, children in Japan watch this anime unedited and they are just fine with it, but if you bring it over here to America and all of a sudden it NEEDS to be edited? I think that just goes to show how much more disciplined Japanese children are and how little disciplined American children are.

But, you guys already knew that so I'll quit wasting your time on issues that have nothing to do with the subject.
