This is a French comic strip about a sexy young woman (with long flowing black hair) who's a superhero with magic powers when someone is in danger.
She lives in a fantastic exotic paradise, and has a bunch of dwarf-like titans she uses as slaves.
She even has her own chariot she rides into battle with and her constant companion is her horse. (brown horse)
Does this sound familiar?

The American version was radically altered, and turned into both a cartoon movie and live action movie.

The Titans who work as slaves FOR her, were turned into elves who volunteer to work WITH her.
There were also fairies who leaned to work together.
Her brown horse was turned into a white horse (later in the series, a white unicorn).
The ivory chariot was tuned into a golden chariot, which she would get later in the series.
The exotic paradise turned into a fantastic candy-land.
The young sexy woman turned into a cutesy (the kind of cuteness that makes you wanna throw up) stong 6 year old girl.
Her long black hair turned into (taken from "Little Orphan Annie") red curly hair (a bight strawberry red).

The name "Sweet Bread", was translated to cake.
Now it's "Stawberry Short Cake".
The author musn't have known that sweet bread is is animal (hog or calf) intestines.

Okay, I can see some relevance to Anime here, but if you're going to post topics whose relavance is debatable, make sure you discuss the relevant points and compare them to Anime.

Combine those two, and you get "Stawberry Shortcake".
I can't go into detail right now.

Although neither Sakura nore Sailormoon were 6 years old at the start of the series, Strawberry Shortcake greatly resembles them.
Sukura has red curly hair.
Strawberry Shortcake has red curly hair.
Sailormoon is cute.
Strawberry Shortcake is cute.
Sukura is short for her age.
Stawberry Shortcake is short (also at 8 years old).

This could also go for many other superhero kawaii.
