Word is going around that adult swim is going to have their own channel soon. Is this true?

I would not think so. There are a few simple reason wise.

Reason 1. Being there is already far too much filler on the dial, and its only a matter of time before cable and satelite start dropping some of them. Hell I am praying for the day when my cable provider says we are dropping these 50 channels. Yes many of these channels are virtually free to cable providers, and satelite providers, but they still draw revenue from advertiseing. I personally cannot see how we can stay at over 500 channels. Right now is not the time to drop another network.

Reason 2. They got an on demand channel for adult swim. Which is pretty good for a limited lineup. Personally I think this is the way cable is going. They will probabally end up with 100 channels, and then a lineup of 100 on demand channels. People love on demand, and that basically means 13 HBOs 5 discovery channels 8 starz channels 7 CNNs are all quite redundant. Anyway it is only a matter of time. Infact I see future channels being run solely as on demand or hybrid. Where you flip to a station hit on demand, and then choose from the lineup or watch what is on.

Reason 3. Adult swim is makeing alot of money where it is at, and we have to ask why would they change what works. Plus how much money would have to go there. Sure boomerang can be run off reruns or the discovery channel or the history channel, but not adult swim. They lack that backload of garbage filler these channels have.

I am willing to bet someone fed you a line. Not that a adult swim kind of network isnt a cool idea. You got to realize they only got 4 hours or so of material, and a network needs 24, and they have no garbage filler. I hope it dosent happen. Afterall look at discovery, history, and the like. They had 2 decent channels, and then they broke into units. Each unit sucking money from the other, and in the end we get garbage. This is all done in the hopes they can garner just a few more neilson points across the board and bring in a little more money at the expense of the viewer. I would hate to see that happen.
