Is anyone else out there having problems with Newtype USA's Subscription service? For the fourth time my monthly issue has not been delivered. Newtype says they sent it, my PostMaster says it has never arrived. Getting in contact is a nightmare as well, as they either don't respond or it is very long in coming. I've gotten to the point where I've requested a refund for the remaining issues on my account.( about ten ) Of course I haven't received any response to that!
Another problem I have is that my local comic shop gets the magazine one to two weeks ahead of me. Now, back in my day, (I'm 42) The subscriber got his issues before they hit the newsstands. Its what made having the subscription seem special.
I don't want to bash them I just want to know if anyone else is having problems. Thanks for listening to an old mans rants!

Sorry you had to go through that, but no, I haven't had any problems with my NTUSA subscription, and I'm a two-year subscriber. The NTUSA issues street on the first of the month; sometimes the next issue arrives at my mailbox a week late on occasion, and sometimes I get the next issue a week earlier.

I don't believe that all magazine subscriptions come before the news stand release. I know for a fact that GameInformer arrives a couple of weeks late every month and for some reason, I don't know if it is their fault, I always get Maxim a week late.

I also normally get mine the first week of the month. In January, however, it was late. I emailed customer service on the 22nd. They quickly respondeded and on the 23rd, they sent me an email saying they would send out a replacement immediately, which they did. The odd thing is the issue (not the replacement) arrived that very afternoon, with the replacement following a few days later. Nevertheless, kudos to NT customer service for a prompt response.

Come to think of it, whatever happened to those Anime Network Quarterly newsletters ADV used to send out to Suncoast's Replay members? I haven't gotten one since last year.

This is why I try not to subscribe to anything. I got a magazine in the mail the other day, one day before the next issue comes out in stores. And plus, getting a magazine in the store after a couple hundred people have flipped through it and manhandled it, it's still usually in better condition then the ones I get in the mail. Why does the mailman think "Do not bend" means "Bend alot repeatedly"?

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I guess I'm just a victim of bad luck in this case.
Its funny though, I had a subscription to Newtype Japan for 6 years and never had these problems. Now after almost 3 years with Newtype USA I'm gonna say so long to them.
No big loss, the magazine, in my opinion, has lost its edge, its news is usually old by the time it hits print and it just isn't as informative as the web. They're okay for the "unintiated" fan, I guess. Sites like these are far more interesting, timely and corporately unbiased.
Was I just bashing them?
OOPS!
