Are these just repackages or has the video and audio been tweaked at all? I guess the reason I'm asking is I'm a big fan of DTB and want to add it to my collection. I'm of the mind that I will always buy blu ray over DVD, unless it is unavailable. I know the DTB has a blu in Japan, and I figure that Funi just can't release it because either a) the blu license was extremely expensive, or b ) reverse importation fears mean it is not up for sale yet. Now on to my question. I've been going back and watching the EVA rebuilds (just got the platinum version of the originals recently and am kinda going along and comparing) and I notice Funi has a trailer for DTB series on EVA 1.11 blu. So this question will only apply to a select few that own both the EVA 1.11 blu and the DTB Classic sets, but does it look as good as it does in that trailer? (i.e. is my player upscaling it to that) Or is it possible Funi just upscaled the trailer video for the EVA blu disc (and the dvd quality will not look the same), or even could a blu release be on the horizon? Does this question even make sense? Thanks for any help, and please forgive any AV ignorance I'm displaying..

I have not bought a classic line title (yet) am considering Gunslinger Girl. Though with most of the rereleases they have not really changed the quality. They usually just add more episodes per disc, so for example a six disc show is condensed into a four disc show.

As for Darker Than Black, personally I would hold off until they make a set with both seasons in it. Of course I hear that season two is not that good.

Well, I have the first CL--Gantz--but that was the first Gantz collection I ever bought, so I can't compare it to any of the past releases in audio/video. But, for what it's worth, it looks fine.

Can't speak on Darker than Black. I will be getting that one soon, though.
