Well i saw the first one about 3 months ago I thought it was a good series with a good romantic ending, but in 2 does she just forget everything and does she just forget about that guy she was like in love with whats the whole background of it. I mean that's kinda sad after all that does she just like dump him and go after that girl?

Yep, she forgets everything. I don't think she does it on purpose though. I think they erased it from her memory or something. I think all of the relationships in SAK2 are lesbian relationships, and I can only remember one male in the show. Mildly entertaining, but no where near as good as the first one.

Wow that sucks spoiler[ your in love with a girl all your life. You die. She forgets you. She starts a lesbian relationship with a little girl while you cry from heaven]
[EDIT: Added spoiler tags just in case. -TK] |

I believe SAK1 and SAK2 take place at different times, or is a kind of alternate story of the same characters. I don't remember any kind of connection being made between the two series so you can simply treat them as two different stories of the same characters.

Steel Angel Kurumi 2 takes place in a more modern setting. I think the original takes place in an odd vision of the 1920s I think. In any case 2 takes place after 1 and the main character (forget her name...only watched it once) is a decendant of Nakahito's (the boy from the original). I really enjoyed Steel Angel Kurumi but disliked 2. It was just a big, smushed together retelling of the original story only much more light hearted. Personally I was much more happy ending the series with the Encore.

Heh heh, I know Shako saying spoiler[ that Nakahito (the main male character) dies] seems like a spoiler, but he didn't mean spoiler[ that he died during the series.] Steel Angel Kurumi takes place during Japan's Taisho Era (1912-1926 AD). Steel Angel Kurumi 2 takes place in modern Japan. It's assumed that spoiler[ Nakahito is dead (just by old age)] by the time the events occur in Steel Angel Kurumi 2. [EDIT: Haven't seen any SAK, but oh well. I guess I'm just being paranoid to this point . -TK] |

I really enjoyed the first series and I was hoping the second would be as good. Unfortunately, it ended up being a complete ripoff of Project A-Ko.

Wow, I never noticed the similarities in them until you mentioned it. Kurumi=A-Ko, Uruka=B-Ko, Nako=C-Ko, and Uruka's Father=B-Ko's Father. They all fit their roles too. Wierd. |

If you bought the SAK complete collection, you may as well watch SAK2...if you only bought single DVDs, you might be better off saving your money. The second season is okay, but not as good as the first. It does explain the different setting and characters, and provides plenty of fodder for shoujo-ai fans. Now, if you really want pointless, there's the SAK Zero OVAs...they haven't been licensed, and for good reason. If you have severe bandwidth use restrictions, you'd be better off downloading something else.
PS: Steel Angel Kurumi Zero isn't pointless because of fanservice--there isn't any. It's mostly just sheer boredom. Last edited by Zalis116 on Thu Feb 23, 2006 5:36 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I can't see where else they could really go with this series except with more panty shots and boobs. A sequel would most likely end up like Love Hina Again with nothing more than a ecchi/damm near hentai anime. Waste of production money in my opinion.

Actually, you'd be surprised. The series does go beyond that and turns out to have a pretty good serious story in the end. I'm thinking maybe you got the idea from whoever wrote the review of it here on ANN. It's funny, that person couldn't be more off with his prediction of what would happen with the show. I'm guessing he only saw the first episode or two. In other words, don't listen to him.
Um, Love Hina Again is no where near a hentai. |

Actually the guy that ran our horrible anime club at the lib showed the first few episodes of SAK and I really didn't get muxh out of it than tits and ass and color. And you're right I also based my original statement on that review since he never got past the first few episodes. As a side note I was exaggerating with the hentai/LHA analogy I know its not a hentai.

I never even bothered to give it a look myself, but yeah, if you would just look at the DVD package, you would see that she has forgotten about "that guy", AKA Nakahito, and has found a new love interest. 'Nuff said...
