Ok I heard a lot of rumors going on the net that they are going to make a America Live Action Version Inuyasha and DBZ(for the record they did a Japanese version of these two shows).
If so who is going to play in it? My opoin is if they are going to do a live action inuyasha I can only think of one Director who can do it. That is Peter Jackson, with a little help with his wife and Rumiko Takhashi herself. Last edited by katyasha on Wed Jan 11, 2006 4:40 pm; edited 1 time in total |

There was a live-action version in Japan? I would think that kind of information would be common knowledge. And the anime didn't start airing in Japan until October 2000, which makes it even less likely that it exists. Also, there is no American version planned either. You're getting some information from some bad sources. But, I guess that's what the internet is good at.

I doubt it'll happen.
But if it did... If there were money in it, I'd say Vin Diesel and Lindsey Lohan. If not, then a bunch of folks you've never heard of. |

I feel like this will never happen. It would be interesting to see, but so many parts of anime are so out there, that it would be hard to get actors to do it. Also I think the demographic is holding it back. Anime is still pretty low key as far as national interest is, so producers won't think that people will show up.

Inu Yasha: no. Not true.
Dragonball Z: 20th Century Fox optioned the rights to do a live-action film *four years ago* and it was supposed to be on the fasttrack for production, to be released in the summer of 2004. But the film stalled in early development, with the last piece of real news associated with it being that Ben Ramsey was going to write the screenplay, and that announcement was made in June 2004, almost two years ago. Yes, I know IGN recently called Fox, who told them the film was still in development and hadn't been cancelled, but film studios never admit that a film that stalled in development has been officially cancelled, at least until their rights lapse. You can only infer that the film is unlikely to be made from the lack of action. Last edited by Tenchi on Wed Jan 11, 2006 6:57 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Do we really need another live-action thread? This is getting repetitive and boring.
BTW, katyasha, there is no "e" in making. |

Careful, this could be classed as 'speculation'. Something that seems frowned up on here. I had a thread 'Cast you own live action anime', and was put down by a mordorator for it, even though it was NOT intended to be a speculative thread. But, on the subject at hand, i don't know about the anime, but i know Peter Jackson would do an amazing job, as he would respect the source material. |

I have yet to see a live action version of an anime that I have enjoyed, or could say that was better than the anime. I like the big eye's in anime. Live action just can't do big eye's without it looking too grotesque.

The thing is, Peter Jackson sure as hell isn't gonna waste his life directing a movie like Inuyasha. Inuyasha, if you think about it, could never be really good live-action, no matyter what. I also think Peter Jackson would notice all the other live-action movies made from anime, and how horifically bad they were. But on other note.......well there is no other note. BTW i know your just speculating, or dreaming or whatever you may call it but....come onnnnnnn. no hard feelings bud, just blowin off some steam on unsuspecting internet goers |

After witnessing such attrocities like Devilman, cutey honey,Wicked city and even casshern it's more than evident that live action anime should not be a medium whatsoever.
