And I gotta say that unfortunatley, it was a bit of a letdown. I knew there would be too much focus on plot (and it is not a complex one) and not enough of what really makes FMA FMA so to speak. However one thing that struck me as odd though was spoiler[the role of the Homonculi. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believed Wrath died in the series with Sloth, so I thought it was a little odd that he both A. was alive and B. wanted to help out Al and was essentially a good guy. Gluttony comes out of left field and is some giant abomination (I'm assuming it's from eating or combining with Dante...depending on what happened in the elevator). Then there's Envy who's just a giant snake dragon. I guess it was a transformation from being in the gate but it felt thrown in (i.e. not very justified) and Envy's role was very minor in all honesty.] However I really enjoyed the climax, which was a big fan pleaser but I thought the end of the movie was odd. spoiler[It seemed as if they defeated Ed's entire purpose initially. After finally reuniting with his brother he decides to leave again? I can understand/apprciate the reason however it seems safe to assume that the gate has two sides. So why must both sides be closed? If one is opened then doesn't that leave that person in a limbo at the gate if the other side has been destroyed? It was nice having the two brothers finally unite at the end but I would think they would want to stay with everyone (specifically Winry). I guess the ending can be viewed as happy but not storybook happy (just like a recent thread discussion), but something about it rubbed me the wrong way cause to me it didn't make a whole lot of sense. However I will admit seeing Scar and Lust's parallels in the gypsy car was pretty funny.] I also enjoyed the original music (espcially the use of acoustic guitar). Unfortunatley I got what I expected which was a disappointment. I felt they spent too much time (the movie is kind of slow) trying to develop a plot that really doesn't need too much explination. I'm glad I saw the movie but I feel like I could have done without since it was a bit of letdown in my opinion as a fan and I guess I would have preferred the ending to have been handled a different way. Also is there any material that bridges the gap between the series and movie? Cause that may be where some of my questions might be answered.

Just take the ending or leave it, really. Most people when they see the ending will complain about it or praise it, but really, you can't change it, so there's no point in complaining about it. I thought it was a good movie aside from the horrid use of CGI.
