I'm just wondering, for those who have read further into the story, if Shaman King gets any better. I have the first 7 volumes, and I really love the artwork, battle style and characters, but I just can't see myself collecting it for another 30 or so volumes. Plus, I heard it had an abrupt ending, and that makes me even more wary of following it to completion. So, can anyone tell me if it's worth it in the end?

I would of still continued collecting SK if it was not for the fact that Viz is dead low on bring out the volumes. Like i am used to Tokyo Pop's Releasing a new volume of a series about once every 2-3 months. However since Viz milks us for more money by putting it in Shonan Jump, then bringing out another volume once every 6 month, I figured it going to be another 15 years before they finish it at this current rate.
Considering that i got the TV series, I had dropped the manga in favor of the anime.

i dont know about the ending, cause i stopped collecting it. the reason i stopped is that it's just too much of a simple shonen series. i cant imagine anything new happening in it besides a new character emerges, he's stronger than those before him, then there is a big fight. and repeat.

I would recommend against collecting it, because the series doesn't seem to go anywhere remarkable. It was a piece of news awhile ago, but apparently, the last volume wasn't going to be released as a volume in Japan if there wasn't enough popularity. I would assume people lost interest in the series. I think the author was urged to continue the series even after wanting to end it, which might explain the end result, but I might be confusing this with another series. I don't know what volume Shonen Jump USA has serialized up to (that's where I'm at), but the story hasn't gotten any more interesting since I picked up volume one.

Yeah, that was another reason 2. Like in about 10 episodes, I was able to exceed was I had all ready collected. And I started thinking, "Oh, so this happens next..............."
