Fact vs. Fiction

When i browze around the internet, i tend to have trouble judging from what is real and what is made up (as in fanfiction or doujins)

I remember coming across a yugioh quiz when i was in middle school that asked what was Seto Kaiba's last namebefore he was adopted, which (due to my researching) did not exist. Yet there were choices, that i've never heard of.

And there are some sites that say kurama uses his hair to make a rose whip, and stuff that's really not true at all...

has anyone else encountered this type of thing?

I once read a fan fic on Inu Yasha that said in the end Inu Yasha had sex with kikyo and they had a child that Inu Yasha didn't know about, and then when Inu Yasha found out he left Kagome and than she fell in love with Sesshomaru. The funny thing is I belived it for a while, than I reailsed that it was a fan-fic and said "Ohhh no wonder it was so weird." I felt so stupid afterwards for beliveing it.

Well technically all anime (other than the ones based on real stories) is fictional. Oh, and I love doujinshi, I prefer it over animated hentai, especially when it invovles characters from anime I'm familar with. It's never really been that hard for me to tell the difference between when it's part of the original story or when it's a fanfic.
