His latest work, Initial D: The Third Stage, is one of the best hits in the U.S. Mr. Usami will be appearing at the Initial D World Premiere on Friday, August 29th, to introduce the movie, and answer questions from the audience after the premiere. Mr. Usami, President at OB Kikaku as well as at Pastel, is a talented director and producer who is behind numerous popular animes, such as Area 88, Touch, The Sensualist, Ushiototora, Initial D, Fire Tripper, etc. Before being involved in film production, Mr. Usami was an art director and an editor-in-chief for magazines. These experiences helped him to develop the artistic sense which he has displayed in producing top quality animes.
