For any other year just choose "other". Feel free to explain why.

Too many good years to pick from, but I'm just gonna go with 2002 here. My absolute all-time favorite anime debuted at the end of 2002 (Haibane Renmei), and it was the first year I really started paying attention to anime coming out of Japan as it was coming out, instead of only paying attention to decade-old material that was only just getting an American release (in other words, I went from watching Tenchi Muyo! to watching Azumanga Daioh), and it really helped expand my anime repertoire considerably.

Hmm, I picked 2007 after all. DTB and KnK debuted, Death Note aired most of its episodes, we had One Piece for the whole year, Evangelion 1.0, and Code Geass also partially aired in the same year. And the list goes on.

I chose the "other" option because there hasn't been a year which has gone by I couldn't find a select number of titles I enjoyed.

I'm kind of curious why so many are picking 1995. Is it strictly because of Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell? Or are there other reasons, like Whisper of the Heart? I'd like to see more people try to convince others that their answer is the best.

I'd like to know, too (and on a related note, I'm surprised 1998 hasn't gotten any votes, being "The Year of Cowboy Bebop," and all). In fact, I'd like to see more responses from everyone, regardless of the year they chose.

Something is really wrong here. Why is most of the polls' first choices receiving a vast majority of votes?
In the future my first options will always be unreasonable stuff either only I or bots will reason with.
Again, if it's 1994 or earlier, go with "other." And if 2012+, make sure to PM me first!

While it isn't stated, I assume you mean the year it came out in Japan. Since this has only a slight relationship to when it comes out here, I am not really clear on what came out when. That is I don't group shows by year.
Other than a handful of shows available when I started, this all runs together. As a result I voted other. I don't think it really matters.

You can use the Search feature in the Encyclopedia tab to sort it out by year. Just go to production year and set it to 1995-1995 or whatever year you want to check out.
This thread makes me want to organize my list by year. Don't take advantage of my OCD!

@ The King of Harts
I hadn't thought of that, but I doubt I will do it. Basically I don't really care. I do try to keep track of when a show was made, but not in comparison to other shows.
By the way, not careing is a great defense against OCD. Of course the ultimate defense is procrastination.
Note, if you keep your list in a spread sheet or database, listing them by year should be a simple sort.

Please don't hate me. I picked 2009 because of Sesshoumaru-sama and Rin. I've only been watching anime for about two years but I am so glad that I only had to wait a couple of months to see Kanketsu-Hen versus friends that had to wait several years after initially viewing Inuyasha. Yes, I'm a fangirl. I'm sorry.

No one picking 2051? Are you guys not optimistic about your future, or do you really believe the world ends in 2012?

Being from the future, I can certainly say nothing out of the ordinary happens to the world in 2012 nor this year (May). Actually 2049 was a pretty good year, but it wasn't on the poll so I picked 1996 instead.

Kinda ironic that Past is from the future.
