Ok, for the first time in a Looong while I'm seeing a game that interests me.
I do have a 3DS, so looks like I need to put some money aside.

Is atlus ever going to release a console game again? They are a shell of their ps2 glory days right now.

Does it really make much sense to? They're a niche Japanese company and most Japanese gamers play handhelds (PSP itself outsold all 3 systems combined in Japan, and DS tripled PSP sales). They'd be spending more money to develop a console game while having a smaller userbase they are trying to sell it to.

Persona 5 will almost certainly be PS3, assuming the damn game ever actually comes out

It should be mentioned that every mainline game in the Persona series is now playable on the Sony handhelds. That could be coincidence, or it could be a way to build up the brand there before Persona 5.
