Anybody hear anything about this? Does it continue from SF Alpha? The Encyclopedia is no help except it 50 min runtime. It's coming OCT 25.

boo 50 mins only. That is not enough for me it should be atleast 90 mins, that sucks if it is 50 mins, i watched the first one but did not enjoy it that much cause the story sucked, ending sucked, the relationship sucked, the character development sucked, they only focused on one character. The street fighter 2 movies owns that movie for sure.

the story was really not street fighter like, its a guy that has this dark hado or something, the villian in the movie was not even a classic it is this mad scientist that i never even heard of, then ken he just sucked in this movie they portrayed him as such a week person, the side characters only got about 2 minutes of screen time, and the ending was just lame

I cant wait for SFA GENERATIONS I just hope I am not dissapointed when it comes out. I have the first SFA and I have to admit I liked it. Sure the main bad guy was an original character but who else was going to play the role of someone stealing powers?
The story wasnt Street Fighter like? Of course it wasnt this is Street Fighter ALPHA! ALPHA you see its on the cover. It means different from the original street fighters, well not literally. I guess someone was expecting to see Van Damme in this movie and was disappointed by his absence. If you ever played the first Street Fighter you would know that Ryu was the main character and Ryu´s face is in every Street Fighter game or movie title, and whenever you see a fighting game collaboration, Capcom vs SNK series, Ryu is somewhere on the box or in the game representing Capcom/Street Fighter, and you were surprised the movie was based on him? I was surprised when I first saw the Hollywood Street Fighter and saw it was on Guile but it made sense considering most Americans are full of themselves. The Last Samurai starring Tom Cruise, The Mexican starring Brad Pitt, The Last N!ga On Earth starring Tom Hanks. Anyway I cant wait for the movie I hope I´m not dissappointed but damn I didn't know it was only going to be 50 minutes so I guess I am dissappointed on the run time but hopefully its still good. Im pretty sure 2 minutes of airtime on the other side characters was a bit of an exaggeration. |

i have played the stree fighter games for sega snes thousands of times, heck i probably played every single street fighter game out there including the marvel vs capcom games, and if you have seen the movie street fighter 2 it is not focusing supremely on ryu, it is mostly about ryu and ken together, but then you also see alot of guild and things, there was not many characters anyways in sfa there was the only 3 of those star characters and 2 of them were crap.
btw i was never talking about that crappy hollywood street fighter movie, i was talking about the street fighter 2 anime movie. |

I liked street fighter 2 the movie because of several reasons: Vega (one of my favourite characters) is in it and 2 you get to see chun-li get attacked after she went into the shower heh heh
 . But I liked street fighter alpha more because it added a new element to street fighter in that Ryu has a brother. One thing that I didn't like about the movie is that Sakura (another one of my favourite characters) is in it and does nothing even though she is given a ton of screen time. Yeah its true Ken was shit in this movie but oh well this movie was aboiut Ryu and his brother and controling his dark hado so yeah.

it would have been nice to see ken and ryu fight akuma, instead of that scientist that none of us knows and just comes into this movie.

My friends both online and real life got to see it in Evolution. They told me it sucked. I haven't played Street Fighter intensly since high school but my friends are giving it a very funny nickname which will get me banned if I say it directly. Just say Street and take what Fighter Alpha Generations stands for and you got what my friends thought of it.

According to the synopsis Akuma will be called Gouki. Why the sudden change is beyond me. Yeah Gouki is his name in Japanese but we've had Akuma for so long and they never bothered to change it so why now? I think Akuma sounds better anyway.
Yeah I didn't care for Alpha. The story was weak and they teased you with Akuma through the whole movie (it was such a cop out that him and Ryu didn't fight, I wanted to see the Shun Goku Satsu). I didn't like the style either. Everyone had huge feet. Not only that but Ryu seemed a little too on the agnsty side. He wasn't the quiet loner that he's supposed to be (they did that very well in the Street Fighter II movie which is the best animated SF so far). Alpha was nothing spectacular and they missed the mark on a lot of things but I'm still holding out hope for Alpha. Then again it if its a prequel and Ryu does fight Akuma it'd mess up the Alpha movie since Ryu had no idea who Akuma was. Oh yeah and it'll be Gouki for some reason. |

Well to me Alpha had a better story than Street Fighter 2. Though only thing that bogged it down was the villain. Mad Scientist (yawn), but then over use of Bison would make me dislike it even more. Street Fighter 2 tried to put in all the characters from the game which made it bad for me cause alot of other characters that I like are given only a couple of minutes of screen time and when they are given screen time its mostly pointless fighting after they meet. Street Fighter 2 would have been alot better if they didn't show all the game's characters and instead only focus on Ryu, Ken, Chun li, Guile and Bison. If they just devoted more time to those characters or if they gave better reasons for the other fighters to be there other than mind control I would've enjoyed this movie more. I'm planning on getting the Street Fighter II V box set and then I hope on getting Street Fighter 2 The animated movie and Street Fighter Alpha. Also can anyone tell me if Street Fighter 2 has been released on DVD because i've only seen it on VHS.

I'm pretty sure it has but its probably difficult to find. It'd be a lot easier if you just picked up the SF Anniversary Collection for XBox or PS2. You can easily find that for roughly the price of an MSRP DVD and not only do you get the SFII movie but you get 3rd Strike and SFII Hyper. So not only do you get the movie but you also get 2 games for the price of a DVD and its a lot easier to find.

I liked the 1st SF Alpha movie. The story was MUCH better than SF2: the Movie (even though Iliked that one too). And the art style was more like the game (if you ever played or seen any of the recent games you'd know that they have huge feet).
On a side note, I remember looong ago before there was even talk about a live-action SF movie, I was watching the 1st Universal Soldier with Vanne Damme. And in the last fight with Dolph Lundren he did a jump kick that was just like Guile's (plus he was in army clothing I think) and I said to myself "He could play Guile in a SF movie." So I'm pretty sure I jinxed it with my mind powers
