This could be a good thing, or a very bad thing. I can't wait to vote but I just might get the original just in case it all goes wrong. The manga by Dark Horse is a right gem and a classic.

I agree, this is eater going to make for a great dub, or a really bad one. It will be interesting to see.

I've seen Outlanders. It's funny enough I suppose. On annother note, It's odd to think it was produced before I was born. >_>;

I find it sort of funny that I was reading the manga, before you were born. On topic: I think this is a very interesting idea. I'm not a dub customer (I prefer subs), but I can see how this could help mitigate or even wholly avoid many of the problems that often plague dubs (most notably, inappropriate voices). It's worth a shot, anyway. - abunai |

I'll bet people will still whine and complain about it. |

Aww... you mean that Viz editor Trish Ledoux will no longer be the voice of Princess Kahm?

You know, I wouldn't touch that bet with the proverbial ten-foot pole. I think you're absolutely right. Still, "to err is human, so forgive the whine..." - abunai |

Okay, I don't get this.
The site has no way for us to vote, it's just some info on the anime. And which studio do they have in mind to dub it? I think we need to know who we can pick from. I probably won't even do this since I'm not familiar with many New York (where CPM is located) voice actors. If it were ADV, FUNi, or an LA or Canadian studio dubbing it, I'd be all over this. |

CPM's posting the auditions on Friday. They've announced the contest, but there are still a few days until it begins. As for not knowing the actors and studios, CPM's posting the auditions so you'll be able to hear them. You just pick the ones you like the best.

It is a little weird that she won't be returning for the role. Some of the other English dub performances were a little spotty, but I will definitely miss the country accent Geobaldi had |

Personally they shouldn't even waste time dubbing this title. It's an old tile which means that only a few fans are going to purchase it. "I" being one of them.
I mean it wasn't that great to begin with. But that's only because it's barely a fraction of the full story. Plus, this was still in the early stages of trying to animate a long running story and sum it up in one shot. I've read reviews on this title and it was rated very poorly. But then again having a "English" audio track might boost it's sales a bit. Mind you they could have not released it all. So I give CPM some credit for taking a "gamble" on these old vintage titles. Like I said I'm buying it because it was one of the second titles I saw and traded for back in '85/86'. So I'm looking for a better copy since I tossed my tape. What they should do is try their hand at it again and make a TV series out of it. Now it could work. |
