Great news, sorta. The original was 2 games, the trademark is only for one game -- so presumably you'll pick Cobi or Tara or maybe switch between the two.
Dragon Quest 7's recent remake hinted at DQM2's remake due to DQ7 having added the random world system from DQM2, so this isn't a huge shock. Unfortunately Square Enix USA has basically imploded, so they aren't going to be releasing, well, anything. Nintendo has been releasing all their titles recently. Double unfortunately, Nintendo hasn't mentioned wanting to pick up DQ7 or DQM1's remake. DQ7 is almost an assured release, but DQM1... it's been nearly a year with no word, and Nintendo DOES have a Pokemon game coming out this year, so... not looking likely. In addition, DQM Joker 2 kinda bombed in the US, at least partially due to them releasing the base game, instead of the vastly superior expansion pack -- which added like 900 monsters and an absolutely insane online mode. So, yeah. Great news about DQM2, but I won't be celebrating until DQM1 is announced in the US. =/ |
