Coolness. Also didn't know they were making another GiTS film. Well, hope it's better than Innocence. I just could not get into that one. Too slow, gorgeous but too slow paced for me.

Innocence has an extremely slow pace, in the typical Oshii-fashion, for the first half. It's ponderous and heavy, and full of basset hounds. |

Must have missed that news somehow. Yeah, I checked the site and found out that it's an OVA. You probably missed that point in my comment, I'm referring to the Innocence film. I had no problem with the first GiTS movie. I don't even have to comment on the TV series because we already know how action packed that is. But I'm looking forward to this installment. Now does anyone have an idea where this feature takes place in the GiTS timeline in relation to the TV series? |

It's confirmed as a prequel. Likely to the TV series and not the films. |

Ah. That's interesting. Never thought that would be the case. Is Shirow tied to the production in any way? Approving or writing the plot? |

I don't know, this video had clips from both the tv series and movie. I get the impression Arise is a prequel to the franchise as a whole and not specifically connected to one over the other.
