If another one came out, I'd be there. I would hope there will eventually be at least one more movie in which he finally runs into dad . Unfortunately, I haven't read that a third story is even in the planning stage, let alone in the works. We can dream for one more movie, though.

Isn't the original movie based on the novels, though? I'm not sure how Bloodlust came about, but perhaps making a next possible movie take place in the feudal era might be cool, kind of like a flashback or something similar to the nature of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Not that I dislike the whole 10,000 A.D. thing, but a third installment of that could tank for those of us who have seen the first two movies already, as in the whole "save the damsel from an evil vampire" theme. I mean, how many times can you tell that kind of story?
Some sort of history of D's background would be most intersting indeed, like where his hand came from, his relationship to his father, or the hardships he faced while growing up as a dampiel/dunpeal (whatever the heck it is).

If UV can pony up the cash, then sure. But I don't think they want to risk getting an R rating and depending on dvd purchasers to bale them out of the costs of co-production. The only reason it worked for Geneon is they have more marketing and distribution channels at their disposal.

I think I remember reading that book 2 was skipped and Bloodlust is based on book 3. As the books have just started being translated, it will be a while before English readers have access to the whole story, so for now what happened next is just speculation to those of us who have no way to know yet.

thats what i was thinking would be cool Hell I hope the novels go into that.
I just want more D anime to. Just finished the first novel and ended up rewatching both the original VHD and bloodlust.

Vampire Hunter D ruled, maybe they could also explain how he ended up with that parasite creature in his hand, I've always wondered about that.

A lot, apparently. It has been done over and over and over again throughout the years, and people still keep on buying it.
