[edit - I'm letting this thread stay, but next time you do an opinion thread, make sure to put down your own opinion too. -b]

Im lovin' Bleach's 2nd story arc... less fillers... less flashbacks... cooler fighting...
If maybe Naruto was able to condense its stories and make it more like the manga it would be better, but I really dont think Naruto is all that great....

Bleach beacuse its damn good. And I haven't seen Naruto. Naruto from what I have seen it looks like a kiddy show like it was for like 13yr olds.

Bleach, definitly bleach man.
Naruto is like dragonball z, if not worse from what I've seen.

Winner of the definition of "ironic" goes to this post.

I like them both. Naruto is entertaining with some awesome fights and funny scenes. However, there are some sort of useless filler episodes scattered about. I guess that's par for the course with such a long show - 140+ eps and counting - but since BLEACH isn't nearly as long (yet) it's not as noticable. I haven't seen the newest eps of Naruto yet, so I can't comment on anything too recent, but where I'm at Shikamaru's squad chasing after Sasuke the shows going on a very cool story arc which can only lead to a big showdown of rivals. Naruto is heading down a cool path which has the possibility of changing the whole structure of their world and even the show. It sure took it's time to get here, but Naruto is deffinately getting good.
BLEACH on the other hand, seems to have progresses further in less ammount of time. The current "Soul Society" arc they're on now is great, but running a bit slowly - maybe it's just cause I watched Naruto in chunks and I'm following BLEACH week by week, but it seems slow to me. There's just as much comedy mixed in with this show, though, so it's well rounded. The current fight with Ken-chan or whatever his name is is exciting as heck. Although once this arc ends, I'm not sure where the show will go. I wouldn't be surprised to see this one end right afterwards.
Both shows being so similar, they do have their share of bad points. First off, some of the jokes are pretty corny. That's probably just the audience these shows are geared to, though. Secondly, the fights can take a long time. This, however, seems to be a staple of the shonen fighting genre... I mean it's not like Goku vs. Freiza long.
At their heart, they're both the same concept, just with (not so) different characters. Don't expect Citizen Kane or anything, but I would recomend watching both.

For one thing, the use of the word "shit" is an approximation on the part of the fansubber. The vast majority (I daresay all?) of our English-language curse words have no direct "curse word" equivalents in Japanese, so most cursing used in subtitles and dubs is just a liberty taken to make the dialogue feel more natural to us dirty-mouthed foreigners. A fansubber putting naughty language in Naruto's mouth does not mean he actually said them.
Secondly, blood is not an inherent indicator of "maturity." Gundam SEED Destiny, for example, is blatantly aimed at the same elementary school boys that Naruto is. The producers have clearly stated this. And yet in Destiny there are horrible, bloody deaths & visions of human disfigurement everywhere: pilots getting exploded, bisected, & impaled (there's even vivid imagery of one drowning, complete with lungs rupturing), public executions, civilians getting ripped into bloody pieces (Shinn's family in the opening few minutes of the first episode are a prime example), mutilated test subjects in laboratories, and other such things are commonplace in this deliberately-labeled children's show. Now, what makes Naruto any different?

I enjoy both shows and think that both are equally appealing to watch. Naruto fulfills my dream of wanting to be a ninja when I was a kid, and Bleach is still in decision...

Both are fun. Bleach is a BIT more serious, but not really by much. It also tends to drag on a bit, the Soul Society arc lasts FOREVER. Both series are a lot of fun though, so why bother choosing one over the other?

Well, if we where comparing this back around episodes 50-75 of Naruto, The little guy would win hands-down. But as of late the story has been deteriorating somewhat, (Manga and Anime wise. Though the manga did start to pick up recently) and the animation has been not up to par. (It's bad when the Mist Ninja Saga had better animation then the recent stuff, 100+ episodes later)
While as someone else said, Bleach was somewhat bland before, but had decent action/story/comedy to pass the time. but as of late it has gotten incredible. If they keep it up, it will turn out to be one of the best series out there. When i get that "To Be Contunued" thing, i watch the preview for the next episode, because i cant wait. have never done that on any other series.

Well said Nagisa.
This is one thing that really bothered me about fansubs. The only fansub I watched was Naruto borrowed from a friend of mine. I noticed huge differences between fansubbing groups. I watched 20 something of one group then switched to another and noticed they group put in a ton of curses, used 'stronger' insults, etc. Even worse is I noticed that screams were subtitled to curse words. The sad thing is many will watch fansubs and feel that it is the authoriative version of a series. Unfortunately they don't realize what they're watching is someone else's version of the show, and most of the time seems like some kids who think it would be cool to drastically change the directors vision of the show. The same ones apparantly are the most rabid fanboys and won't even support the show buying the real version when it's available on DVD.
