I couldn't find an official discussion thread on Space Battleship Yamato properties, so I decided to start one. I realize there were some older threads for reference, so I wouldn't object to getting merged into one if it came to it.
I'd like to start off with a question, if that's okay. It has been mentioned to me that, somehow, Lord Desler is named for Adolf Hitler. Though Soto is a term that can be used to represent führer, it's pretty generic to my knowledge. That being said, I've heard that Matsumoto claims his name comes from Death-Ra. What's the real story? Does 'Death-Ra' have anything to do with the Ancient Egyptian diety Ra? That's all I could think of when I read that. Thank you |

I've watched the show recently and really enjoyed it. I hope they bring the I've action film to the states. Deslar seems to be a complicated character. The first season he is portrayed as a evil villian but they seem to add dimensions to his character as time goes on.
