(normally I would ask the sender to report errors in the Encyclopedia directly, but since it's an ezweb.ne.jp address, I doubt s/he understands enough english to participate in the error reporting process) |

Takeshi Honda (本田 雄) As for the 本田雄→本田剛士 issues, the report is correct on Kill la Kill:

There is a free lance photographer who does stuff for news sites named 本田雄士, but also a porn star, so google carefully. I don't have any reason to believe that either are involved with anime though. I have a screencap of the Cleoparta photography end credits, but at a glance I do not see which name got confused with Tsuyoshi Honda. But in the opening credits, 本田毅 has live action photography (実写撮影). I need to take a break from encyclopeding to cook and clean, but this evening I'll add the credits I found and mark up poor Takeshi Honda's encyclopedia page with error reports. Unless of course somebody beats me to it. |

Update: I did all the things.
Regarding the backgrounds credit in Takeshi Honda's encyclopedia page... The credits in the source list 木多毅 and 本多毅 variously for Backgrounds. 木多毅 is probably read as Atsushi Kita, 本多毅 can be read as Takeshi Honda. There was clearly a typo somewhere, not sure which is correct though. One thing we can be certain about is that it was a different person than the Takeshi Honda animator. Android Kikaider seems to be his life's work though, so rather than doing a split I think I would just make a new person, Atsushi Kita. There is only going to be one credit anyway. The Touka Gettan photography credit is for 本田隆, Takashi Honda (who coincidentally also worked on Kill la Kill, making a trifecta!). And looking at that encyclopedia page, it might need some work too... 本田隆 could have credits mixed in from 木多毅 (Design Office Mechaman precisions), and there are credits for Key Animation, Character Design, and Animation Direction which could be for 本田剛士 or 本田雄. Blarg. Blargh EDIT: All the animation credts seem to be for 本田隆. The exceptions are the three Love Hina titles, where 本田隆 is credited, and Abnormal Psychology Seminar, where 本田貴志 is credited. Now it's a question of if 本田隆 is also the backgrounder/photographer (unlikely). Some of the Inazuma 11 credits have furigana for 本田隆, so we know Takashi Honda is the correct reading for the animator. |
