I wanted to buy the FMA dvds and i was wondering,
if the episodes were uncut,I've read about stuff they cut out on TV,like blood and violents.
Is the stuff they cut out on TV on the DVDs?

The DVD's are totally uncut. FUNimation wouldn't do that to us like 4Kids does.

There are only two companies from whom I wouldn't be surprised to see cut/edited DVDs. 4Kids, and Tokyopop.

All anime that comes over is cut a little.
Especially when they are to be aired on TV. You cant turn a 45 minute show into a 26 minute show without cutting something.

Besides, if any of you have seen Berserk then you know that it is pretty gorey and not for the weak at heart. Even THAT was edited.

Sorry! hate that it happens, but it does. Even to great shows like FMA

while that may be true, i did actually post on the right thread.

its true. Now, not all anime that comes over or has been dubbed is cut to hell, but if it is about 26 minutes, then you are missing nearly 15 minutes of cut animation.

Most shows have half hour episodes. Unless it's a movie or direct to video.

also, i should note that one of the FMA dvd's said it was uncut. Maybe they are showing all 40-45 minutes.

ex. Bubble Gum Crisis

I have the version that was released by Animeigo. These are each over 40 minutes long. At times they feel like they go on forever, but at least everything is true to form.

Bubblegun Crisis was direct to video.

Fullmetal Alchemist's episoes are ~24 minutes long each, like most other TV anime.

granted, bubble gum was straight to vid. I hate to bring it out, but what about DB or DBZ. Lots and lots of diologue cut out. That was never straight to video. That aired in the US long before toonami came around, as well. Those shows, UNCUT, around 43 minutes long.

FMA may be 26 minutes. Like the saying goes, there are exceptions to every rule.

I beg to differ. DBZ is not half an hour. it is when it is cut down.

and I dont see us agreeing at all, so perhaps we should agree to disagree.

besides, if the dvd says uncut, then I say it is uncut. You say its uncut. everyone is happy
