I'm definitely looking forward to this. I like that description of love much better than in the modern sense.

I'm hit or miss with Shinkai. Every odd numbered film he releases I tend to like alot. Voices of a Distant Star and 5cm I felt were amazing, yet Place Promised and Children Who Chase Lost Voices were fairly boring and had a tendency to drag.

I'll agree to to that, but after watching Place Promised a few times I started to appreciate it more.

I liked it to an extent. I just felt it maybe lasted 30 minutes too long. It would have been a much stronger experience with it being slightly shorter.

Overall I love the guys work though. I recently ordered the international edition of 5cm per second. I didn't realize it also had Voices of a Distant Star on it as well.

God, the character designs in Makoto Shinkai's movies are always the best. Can't wait to see this.

Awesome. I'll watch anything Shinkai does. Hopefully, this short will be added as a feature on a future Shinkai full-length release.

I kinda love how Shinkai maintains the same look and feel in his sellout commercial stuff as in his big labor-of-love movies. I bet this one will be lovely stuff too!

Seems like Shinkai is on a roll and rightly so. That's the future of new talent. As long as he can keep us engrossed with his work. I have to sit down and watch 'Children who chase lost voices...'.

I haven't been disappointed with any of Shinkai's works to date, and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with in the future, be they short or feature length. The detail in the backgrounds and even just the general imagery can be quite breath-taking.
