Ohh snaaaaap, an American anime remake that could potentially be good? Sam Raimi FTW!

Seeing Raimi's name on this has me interested.

This could be cool. For most of the rumored anime adaptations that are floating around, a lot of them would work better as TV series. I rather see something like Pluto as a weekly one hour drama as opposed to a dumbed down 2 hour Hollywood movie.

I'd rather see an Evil Dead anime, Sam. C'mon, dude, it's the closest we'll get to a part 4.

This........could actually work. At the very least, they could improve the rather sluggish pacing in the beginning episodes.

If they keep some of the original flavors of the series (setting in Europe, keeping the name Kirika) I won't complain. But I'm not holding my breath on it.

I would like them to keep the implied lesbianism!

If they keep Kajiura's music or get her to make a new score, I'm sold.
Noir is not Noir if there isn't Kajiura's music though. |

Out of curiosity, has there ever been a moment where an American production company hired a Japanese music composer?

The implied lesbianism must stay in.
This too. |

Not all of these were American films, but Ryuichi Sakamoto was hired to work on The Last Emperor, The Handmaid's Tale, Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights, Little Buddha, Wild Side, Snake Eyes, Femme Fatale, Silk, and Women Without Men. He won an Academy Award for The Last Emperor. |

It would me too...if he was directing it. However, he's listed as an executive producer which means the sum total of his involvement will likely be to make a phone call or two, if that. That whole ex. pro credit is a real scam. Film-makers try to get a name like Raimi's attached because they know it will excite the fanbase. The name gets an easy pay check for doing jack. |
