Vita, Ranma, Asuka and Kyouko are all picks I like here. Ranma is what got me interested in anime, so I'm happy to see it getting some recognition.

Without Lina Inverse I just can't take this list too seriously(she was even feisty enough to take over the main character role while the author was laying the groundwork!). As for the poll, I voted "New Anime Season" because "Bonus Pay" wasn't an option.

I was shocked to see Koume on the list, since I didn't figure too many people remembered Blue Seed. Not that I can talk about 'remembering' it though, I only just saw it for the first time a few months ago. I agree highly with her inclusion though. Also - Best. Picture. Choice. For her. Ever.

*ahem* D'oh. But she could be said to be more orange than red. Maybe? But in the same vein, there's Asuna Kagurazaka from Negima, who easily throws boats when she runs out of shoes and she wields a pretty mean, pretty big, paper fan. Oh, there's this girl named Excel Excel. It's funny that when I saw Koume, I thought her voice actress, Kotono Mitsuishi, played a greater red head but then thought "But Sailor Moon's blonde...." |

I actually think Shana a bigger snub than Lina myself.. she was very influential in anime with all the Shana clones that appeared afterwards. Lina is fine, but to me she's just another pretty good action show lead.

Wasn't Revy from Black Lagoon a redhead? Maybe not "red" enough for anime standards? --Anyway, she was the first one I thought of when it saw the title of this week's list....
Too bad there was no Warm Weather Vacation Escape option on this week's poll. I'm not wild about winter or the holidays. |
