Do you know why Sentai is re-releaseing Ghost Sweeper Mikami sub only?

Because old shows do not sell well enough to make up the costs for a dub, plus I think Mikami is a pretty long series, no?

Sentai only dubs shows that have a chance of mainstream appeal. And sadly, GSM, being a show from the 90s isn't going to be a big draw to the buying crowd, at the very least to warrant dubbing a 45 episode series.

Well maybe the dubb was bad or they couldn't recover it. That's my guess.

The only thing I see that was dubbed for Mikami was a "Feature DVD" (most likely a movie?)

Yeah, only the Mikami movie was dubbed by Manga Entertainment back in the day. Supposedly they were going to license the series after the movie, but I believe the movie didn't sell enough to warrant to keep going. I do remember not being impressed by the dub though.

I don't know what's up with that. It looks like someone just crossposted information from the movie's listing, alongside the production credits for the subtitled TV edition Sentai did [hence Janice's inclusion].

The movie was dubbed a good while ago, and most of the actors haven't worked in anime for a good while [looking at their credits only Wayne Grayson has some recent credits to his name, with some Pokemon work]. The dub direcot has never worked for ADV/Sentai, and looks to have worked exclusively for CPM and Manga Ent [who are oddly listed a distributor for the TV series, which wasn't the case]. Reuniting the cast seems highly unlikely, given most haven't worked as voice actors since Mikami's movie dub was made, and none of whom look to be based in Texas where Sentai dubs their works. If they had dubbed the work, they likely would of recast the roles.

I guess Encyclopedia staff should swoop in and fix that?
