I just bought Zone of Enders for PS2 and that is a really good mech game. I like it more than mech assualt but it is kind of short and ends abruptly. I think it is by the same guy who makes metal gear and the graphics and rendering are done very well. I would rent it rather than buy it because its so short, but i had to buy it cause no one around me had it for rent. I have never played a gundam game, but i highly doubt they are anywhere near as fast play as Zone of Enders.

I really liked Robotech Battlecry. My thoughts lay within this page:

Well its kind of redundant for me to restate my thoughts when I already wrote a really thorough review on it =P

I know I placed a thread about how much I loathed Battlecry. However, I decided to give it another whirl, and it kinda grew on me.
As far as the Gundam games, I really liked the 0079 Side Story on the Dreamcast.

...I do wish they brought over Macross Digital Mission VFX-2 instead of canceling it a few years back.

Yeah, what happened to Macross Digital Mission VFX-2? that looked like a really promising game.

Robotech battlecry is better. even tho it has some minor flaws, its still a very enjoyable game. those cell shaded graphics(xbox) are better than all those gundam games on the market.

Macross = invisible ceiling, but the Gundam games have more diverse games, IE the 2d fighters, and action shooters.

Macross VF-X, VF-X 2 and M3 SUCKED BIGTIME and were very, very boring. Robotech Battlecry is simply mediocre and overhyped with some irritating technical flaws, although it can be fun in single-player mode.

I have yet to play a Gundam game, but if you want something good and Macross-related, get hold of a Sega Saturn and play the DYRL game. It's excellent. Another good option is Macross VO. You can get more info on where to get it (buy or download), how to install, play etc. in the Macross Games sections of the Macross World Forums ( http://www.macrossworld.com )

Also, a complete Macross mod for Homeworld is under development. Again, you'll find the lowdown in the MW forums.

I actually did get to play an imported version of VF-X 1. It was kinda stupid. Although I heard VF-X2 was actually somewhat decent.
