Top talent assembled for this project, hopefully Toei will be able to have a cool Harlock movie alongside the Gaiking Movie, I declare these 2 projects the spearhead of the New Anime Revolution.

Wow, I saw those images and my jaw hit the floor. Now I REALLY can't wait. I been waiting for new Harlock material for years, and this looks like it will be worth the wait, even if they "modernize" it like they did with Star Trek.

I saw the article title with CG Captain Harlock and thought, that's going to be a dumb waste. But damn those images be fine. If the show can look like that, you'll get me to watch it on pretties alone.
Also for some reason the bottom image is going down past the article. Here is a screen cap. I tried it in Firefox, and IE 8 on Window 7 and it did it for both. |

The Appleseed CG movie had great visuals but the story sucked (ex machina was worse) so I have my doubts, seeing as how the Appleseed director is involved.

This is a good point. Are these stills from the actually movie (I thought this was going to be a movie. What's this 'Pilot' term? Film test footage? Or is it going to be a series?) or just concept art? Cause, god damn that looks stylish if its legit animation stills. |

Wow, this sounds interesting. It would be nice have the rest of the Harlock series released as well. If wishes were like horse shoes and hand granades we all could get close and still win.

At first I was against the CG. But those two pictures have me drooling. Especially the Arcadia.
And this also just brings us one step closer to getting My Youth In Arcadia on Blu Ray!!! |

Yes, but the story for Harlock is basically already laid out. All they have to do is make it pretty =) And not butcher the original storyline. Oh fudge, it's beautiful and epic. It'll be worth it just for that alone. |

I usually don't like CG, but this looks like it has definite potential. Any Harlock goodies we get in the U.S. are welcome in my book.

I see it's time to start crossing fingers again. [CROSSES FINGERS] Leiji's flirted with CG before with highly mixed results so let's hope this ends up being his finest.
