Anyone have any idea what this is supposed to mean?
"Graphical researches" looks like an attempt at translating what the French credits say: But "Recherches graphiques" doesn't make much more sense to me in terms of a role type. I have been having headaches about exactly what language to credit French people under from the English credits of a Franco-Japanese animation. |

I dug up and added TMS' official page for Ulysses 31, but it isn't helpful. Google searches say "recherches graphiques" (or "conception graphique") = "production design".

I later found a copy of the Japanese ending credits (or at least the credits of one episode or other since they may change each episode unlike the English version) and could only see Studio Nue under Mechanical Design. It was getting ridiculously complicated and also late so I called it a night.

Just enter the task directly as "Recherches graphiques". If anyone cares about the French staff, they can probably read French anyway.
But what I understand from that expression is that these people researched Greek mythology in order to come up with the designs for the show. A similar example would be taking a trip to Venice to research the design for Aria. |
