Any boxee users here? I've been trying out the latest beta, and it looks great and works well, but since it's failing pretty hard in the area of animé, I'll probably have to just stick to the less glamorous method of playing animé from each site in my browser, dragging it onto the TV, and hitting the Fullscreen button.
First I looked for One Piece, and even though it's on Hulu, which is integrated directly into boxee's TV Shows, it doesn't show up in searches. One Piece doesn't seem to be streamed anywhere else legally except here on ANN, which brings me to my next point.
I also searched boxee for Mobile Suit Gundam -- I recently started re-watching the series off ANN's own video site. But this show is apparently only available through ANN, and ANN would need to have an app in boxee's App Library for its shows to appear there.
Lastly, noting that Crunchyroll had an app, I used it to pull up Naruto Shippuden. It seems that even though I can sign in, the app doesn't give me two of the really major subscriber's privileges -- no ads and 720p playback.
So... that kinda sucks. Am I missing something? Have any of you guys managed to have satisfactory experiences as animé fans when using boxee?

Hulu's been blocking Boxee for over a month now. Don't be surprised if more sites also block its ability to search as well.
Yes, I know, it doesn't make any sense, but that's the entertainment industry for you. Think it's bad now? Wait until the deal with Comcast goes through. Then everyone loses, not just Boxee.
My advice: utilize video scraping software (free add-ons if you use Firefox) and download the videos directly instead.

Oh, I didn't know that Hulu was currently blocked on boxee. I'd heard of that happening, but I guess I thought it was back now. It seems that TV networks are dying a vengeful death.
Anyway, I do wonder if ANN has considered making a boxee app, so we can access their great collection through there.

I'm a net geezer, and don't you forget it. In my day we always took the time to type diacritics and we liked it.

Have you heard of PlayOn? I have had great luck streaming anime through PlayOn, although, I also lost Hulu about a month ago. PlayOn works with all the major legit steaming sites and produces a quality image.

Apparently PlayOn is Windows-only (I'm on a Mac), but thanks anyway. I did try out Hulu Desktop. At least their own app is capable of accessing their shows But it seems that a centralized solution isn't gonna happen, at least not if ANN can't make their own app for boxee.
