I'm new here and this is my first post, I'm fairly new to anime which is kinda odd because I've been into anime for at least three years. I live in a rural town in Texas so I'm not around many people with anime expertise. I've been to three cons, but usually end up getting what I know and like instead of something new. The anime that I like right now are Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, Evagelion, Kenshin, and Inuyasha So this is an open request to anyone who likes anime (hopefully a lot of people seeing as this is the ANN) given those anime as a type of reference I want everyone to tell me what kind of anime you would suggest for me to buy. Any manga suggestions would also be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't really wanna give you anime advice, but I've got some tips for manga. Have you started collecting manga yet? For me, I tend to do research (Ha! Not really, I'm so lazy!) on what manga I'm gonna get. How easily can I get a hold of it, and more importantly, how long is the series. For instance, the Inuyasha manga is incredibly long, so if you've got the money and time (and you really like the series), then go for it. I'm not really into the Sci-Fi themed anime and manga, but if you really like Kenshin, I'd try the Blade of the Immortal manga by Hiroaki Samura. It's got great art and a good story line, but I'd say that it's not for the faint hearted or young. It's at 10+ volumes range right now. If you want suggestions on fantasy themed anime and manga, ask. I'm a sucker for shoujo anime, however. Anyway, I see that you've gone after some of the well known animes. Branch out! Try a place like www.anipike.com, or browse through an online store for title descriptions, like Robert's Anime Corner Store (they've got great shipping!), www.animecornerstore.com. Hope this helps.

i would try GTO, great teacher onizuka if you want comedy. i'm pretty sure there are some Barnes & Nobles over there and you can just stay at Barnes & Nobles for the whole day and read an entire series (FYI all the manga in Barnes & Nobles are in the Sci-Fi section with other marvel/dc comic books). unless you live in a real big time small tejas city or a tourist attraction like fredericksburg i wouldnt know what to do then.

On the manga subject: I have the first Cowboy Bebop manga (I think there are more than one) And I've really wanted to check out Lone Wolf and Cub. I have some Gunsmith Cats volumes as well. I like all genres though but we only have 3 small comic shops around here that don't know much about manga other than the mainstream stuff.

Manga. Well, I'll list off all the stuff I read.

Video Girl Ai-despite the nudity, it's an excellent manga, and it's worth a good read. There are four graphic novels out now, and the individual manga comes out monthly in Animerica extra.

Shadow Lady-Also, despite the nudity, it's cool. I really like it a lot, and I don't really know what else to say...

Inu Yasha and Ranma 1/2-everybody knows they're classics, and you may have heard of them. They're good stories..manga...either way, there's so many Ranma graphic novels, that you might want to start a little savings up before you can get them. Inu Yasha has quite a few too, but they're worth reading.

What's Michael?-Ah, it's about a cat. A comedy manga, that's just...funny, and puts a cat's behavior down on paper. Michael is a lot like my cat Cracker MICHEAL Sith.

Gunsmith Cats-The series has ended, and all the graphic novels are out, I think. It's really cool and made me wish I had AB- blood like Bean Bandit. Guns, chicks, explosions, violence. Ah...

And that's all for now because I gotta drop the demon off at school.

I'll second the GTO suggestion; the manga is incredibly entertaining. Always makes me laugh.

Welcome, Wizkid.
Okay, first GTO is great (seems to be an echo here).
If you enjoy Sci-fi, I reccommend picking up either Gasaraki or Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040. Both are cheap if you get them from bestbuy.com (BGC 2040 is about 80 bucks and Gasaraki is 110).
You should also check out Macross Plus and Gundam 0083/08th MS Team.
I don't read any manga lately, but if you got some change to spare, check out Ranma 1/2. It is a very amusing series.
Going back to where to get anime, Bestbuy.com. The there prices are pretty good and they have free shipping.
