I am trying to remember an anime from my childhood, but I have very little to go on. The only thing that I remember is that it was an anime about a soccer player, and his best friend. I saw it in the early 90's, but it was probably from the late 80's. Thank you in advance ofr your help.

i used to watch this anime when i was little but can't remember its name. its about teenagers who pilots robots (kinda like gundams) the robots are all white colored...and it activates and comes out of school buildings...im not sure if i remember right but that is all i remember...pls help..thanks!
