At least the Monster box set is 15 episodes versus the standard 12-13. If they keep doing like this, all 74 episodes could be in 5 box sets.

I'm looking forward to checking this series out as well. Should I start with the show first or read some of the book first?

Chrno2, it is just a matter of preference. Personally, if there is an anime that looks promising to me, I sometimes will read the manga first. I think it wouldn't hurt to read some of the books first. However, do you mean reading Monster or 20th Century Boys?

'Monster'. I should have specified. We have a couple of issues so I could start with those. But every now and then I have some issues if I read the book and then watch the show. So I try and do the show first and then go back. Sometimes I have no problems and can easily accept the changes.

well from what I hear Monster's anime is almost the same as the manga panel for panel. So try the show
